I-XI: Buzzing Around & Season I recap

The final entry of the season. Kind of wanted to do a I-XII, but it no longer seems appropriate time-wise. Instead, I'll take a deep breath, look at where I am, give the TWM story some more love that it deserves, and move onto Season II quite soon.

The deal stays, you will see the entries as they come, and the season will start off on DeviantArt only when there's (roughly) enough.

Concept list, part I

Some conceptual setups have been around for a while, some are newer, some might come up during the composition of this list itself. Most of them will eventually end up in EC (in no particular order), some will apply to TWM.

These concepts are the basis, the core idea that lingers around until pushed onto the drawing board by an electric impulse. Not only they are now part of my Patreon content, but writing them down is going to be helpful in systematizing the entire art process. Here go...

EC Season 1 is live!

The I-I is out there on DA, each of the next will be appearing within 1-2 days since the previous one. (The plan is 1, but we'll see how it goes).

Till Dress Do Us Part

Ten was the minimum goal I set for myself. There are still several concepts I want to try, and there will be two or three more entries to Season 1 in total, but active preparation for the launch starts around now as well.

Will-o-Weak

Captionists worldwide usually take a picture and write the story for it real quick. I've tried different approaches, but somehow, I ended up more comfortable with finishing the story first, so as to not be restricted by an existing picture, which is harder to adjust to the text than the other way.

It's June now. Surprisingly enough, progress is going according to plan, and the plan has not changed. Somehwere within the month, within a single day, the Season I and the Patreon update will be live. There will be a precise date as soon as I am ready to provide it.

Strings Attached

This entry, it's different. I kind of actually like it. Hope you do as well.

Usually I use a body reference image and then alter it as my author's vision suggests. This is the first time in the series when I didn't use any. I thought you'd rather know that instead of what impact summer weather has on my brain's state of aggregation.

Head in the Sand

Nothing smart to say today. Aiming to release the Season 1 in June, with a Patreon overhaul as well. Adding some responsibilities to my own self would be real nice. Weekly this and monthly that. Will specify when the future is more certain.

Weight of Bureaucracy

Another one for your judgment. Making up ideas for TWM also became fun again all of a sudden. I'll just keep doing my thing, I guess, so that one day it's appropriate to ramble about something irrelevant under "just another upload".

It keeps transforming (EC I-I, I-II & I-III)

I'm still experimenting with the shape my content takes. Here's a new one, similar to some things I showed you before, but as a big thing. Finishing one of these takes 1-2 sessions on average, which seems like a very promising format to me. Time will tell if it sticks.

Once I decide that the Season I is complete, I'll be deploying it one on my currently empty Deviantart (seems like the right platform for that). After gathering feedback (if there will be any), I'll start the second seaso...

The first EC story was largely a flop (to me, at least). The story concept was initially very vague, but I think I managed to update it to something that works and something it should have always been.

First 2023 Update

The new EC story text is 99% complete. It took forever (nobody's surprised, I hope), because I shelved a storyline I failed to finish and went for another one. I immediately had a lot more fun with it and got it done in "just" a couple weeks.

Drew the first illustration today in a single take. If they keep coming like that, the next large update will come soon-ish and probably will also have something for TWM as a bonus. Bear with me, I guess.

I survived August.

It was a very hot August, and I do not tolerate hot weather at all and also subjectively loathe it as well. I barely existed in this month, which, of course, meant that little story work has been done.

But now an actually good time of the year has begun, and I'm back to writing with fresh enthusiasm. Expect a TWM update on a major branch I have not touched since the story release in April 2021 in a couple days. Then the plan is to keep working on finishing the EC story (currently 40% do...

Technical difficulties, bad weather, slippery floor... Let's forget that there was a sixth month in this year and hope that the seventh will be great instead.

These sketches had to wait on the shelf for a while, but they are the closest thing to content that I have on my hands right now.

Also new Enchanted Clothes story is in progress. I hope it does not take another eternity to make as much as you do. Love you to death and wish you a blast of a summer.

Unfinished.

Unfortunately, I'm having busy times, with even busier times to come. April left a lot of incomplete chapters and sketches, and I hope to get them out eventually. It might not seem like it, but there's rarely a day when I don't open up the story and try to add to it.

EC Update #2

Hello again!

The first EC story is nearing its completion (I'll update the post when I'll have a certain date (80% Thursday or earlier, 100% by the end of the week, unless I'm hit by a bus). It was a tough but interesting new experience for me, and any future development to it will be done MUCH quicker. I think you have a right to expect a lot more content for the month, so I'll try to deliver as much more as I can in the remaining days of March.

EC update.

Hello there. Couldn't help but notice that the world has gone a fair bit crazier since I last posted. It did take an emotional toll on me, as I do have some connections in the involved countries, but I feel much better now.

The new story is growing as expected. By 'expected' I, of course, mean 'extremely slowly at first because of the extra effort into the drawing part, but a lot quicker lately because I'm getting used to it'.

Enchanted Clothing

It's official. I am currently making another CHYOA story. I was carrying it around in my head for a while, but I think I've finalized the concept now:

— I'm planning it as a compilation of short storylines with mostly linear structure;

— I am going to illustrate every chapter, maybe even drawing before writing;

— It is a canonical TWM spinoff, but the connection is beyond any of the character's knowledge, so it's never going to be mentioned after the introduction.

Una

The White Mall: Una, as you all know, is what's called the first installment. It was exclusively available on GaggedUtopia, which was not feeling too good for the past couple years anyway, and is off the radars for a couple months now.

However, I never deleted the story from my computing device, and it only made sense to upload it on CHYOA, and that's what I have been doing for the past couple days. I'll give it a quick final lookover and publish it very shortly.

Good day, my dear supervisors. Haven't checked up on you in a while.

With 1 total vote, the physical map of the story won the last poll, while the majority silently voted for things to stay as they were. I have been acting extremely precise to this feedback, with chapters once in a while and the map beginning to form and subsequently drowning in lack of motivation (I have skills and resources to make it and will eventually finish it, but can't promise anything more).

October update

Hello again.

I fell out of my writing mood and was not very active throughout September and the first half of October, but now I'm back to being able to contribute to the story. My main objective for now is to make every single branch lead to a definite ending, and I made sure that is going to take a while.

Catching up first.

Well, I'm stable at making 2-3 decently sized chapters a week. If a lightning of inspiration hits me, then there's more (and I still think it's going to strike me soon). Until it does, that seems to be my comfort pace.
