2023-04-21 09:31:21 +0000 UTC View PostDue to some Level 2 animation work planned and some personal time needed the environmental build Livestream has been rescheduled for 10:00 am PST on April 22nd.
It is possible to squeeze the livestream in the 21st. But to avoid any rush or needing to cut the stream short, we've decided to push back the stream a day so we can all have a nice relaxed, and productive stream :)
Start time: 10:00 am April 22nd PST, 1:00 pm EST, 5:00 pm UTC.
Highlights:
Level 69:
Huge environmental rework.
Dynamic Rain Material made for street and sidewalk.
New "Power Fault" puzzle. (Video above)

There are a couple of ways this can be setup:
1. A Livestream on Discord as I (the dev) build and flesh out the main layout of 931, some details, possibly model some parts, light it up and add some post, etc...

Highlights:
Cleaned up and polished the main generation framework. (Much more efficient)
Added a couple more hallway variations.
Dynamic lighting quality system implemented that increases lighting quality closer to you and turns down settings further away that aren't noticable. (Performance boost)

Unfortunately, there seemed to have been a collision bug in the 2.3 Patch Release earlier today that made a big part of the Level 119 map inaccessible.
Fortunately though, everything has been worked out and there are no more collision bugs to be seen :)
All links have been updated and now have the patched release.
If you did download an unpatched version before it was fixed, you can download and replace it with the new version, and everything will sort itself out...

A rather small patch compared to previous patches, but we've finally got through to some harder-to-fix bugs (aka Raytracing bugs) along with a few additions to Level 119! :)
Important Notes: Level 119 has been the main focus for additions and changes along with bug fixes (2 new rooms/puzzles).
All Raytracing bugs, including shadow puzzle bugs and all bright pixelated light-type bugs, have been fixed!

A dynamic depth-of-field camera system has been in the works for a while and is ready for gameplay, but whether it would be a good addition is still in question.

The Subliminal 2.2 patch is officially out!
Important Notes: Level 69 (Infinite Highway) is a new addition in this patch, so bug levels will most likely be higher in comparison to other levels.
The Official PatchLog is at the bottom of this post!
Patch 2.3 is planned for Mar 27th!
Number of Exits in each Level:
Level 37: 8 Exits
Level 119: 5 Exits
Level 69: 3 Exits

Due to a persistent crash bug in Level 119, the patch release date has been pushed back a day and is now set for:
March 20th
8:00pm PST, 11:00pm EST, 3:00am UTC.
Thank you everyone for your patience! These updates have huge amounts of work that go into them with a growing number of people contributing now and I'm so excited to release this patch with everything that has gone into it!

Finishing up bug fixes on level 119, including the underwater bug, can't run up steps bug, and others.
We were able to get a huge boost in performance for the suspended hallways (around 30 fps) and a slight boost for the Waterpark. AMD raytracing bugs in the suspended hallways are fixed, and some updated textures and geometric destruction were added!

Firstly, I apologize for the lack of updates lately, the rebuild has been chugging along though and Level 69 is rebuilt and very close to release-ready!
Final adjustments and tweaks are happening now which brings us to the color grade. These are the 3 final color grades, vote for your favorite and the winning grade will be used! :)

The estimated release is now March 16th.
Thank you everyone for your patience while these curruption damages are dealt with and rebuilt. 🖤
Some more info: The curruption has mainly affected Level 69 and erased a fair amount of entity related code. Updates will continue with the rebuild of Level 68 and Level 119 bug fixes.

The balance between exploration and linear progression is a tough one.
Do you prefer a more linear progression to gameplay and puzzles with exits throughout a central path that lead to different levels? Or more exploratory gameplay where puzzles are spread out and found separately with no main path?
