Another Pinup of Dash from Slamhounds

Dash, again. Note that her tendrils are exposed, indicating that she's not concerned with the safety of whomever she may encounter. You can also see a bit of her artificial eye and scar, partially hidden by her hair. And if you look closely, you'll notice that the barrel and casing of her weapon rotate, allowing her to spin to a freshly loaded chamber when the upper magazine runs out.

I Don't Think This is Canon...

Just a simple Star Wars commission I did awhile back. As always, I did my best, but my boyhood crush on Carrie Fisher kept me from rendering an actual likeness.  Rest in peace, Carrie.

Patron-Torturing Time Again

Hey all. For whatever reason, I can't seem to scan my past posts right now, so I don't know what image(s) I included when I touched on this topic before... but I've spent all night cleaning up pages, so I'm going to plunge recklessly ahead (which is practically my motto).

If you recall, I mentioned a character who started out as a  rabbit in an adult short ("Holed Up"), but when I adapted her to a dramatic, non-adult story (Slamhounds), ...

Nessie Meets a Kindred Spirit

Boy, did this scan need cleaning! It was like a scan of cat hair and lint with a drawing in the background.

I don't recall the details of the commission, but it looks like I was riding that all too familiar line of suggested vs. explicit. I know I roughed out a version that was waaayyy on the explicit side of the line. Let's just say that if ol' Aquaman there is the bait, in the other version Nessie i...

Boneyard WIP teaser

I'm finally getting sort of caught up on some pay-the-bills stuff, so new comic pages should be coming soon. The next few Boneyard pages are actually done, but I want to build up a bit of a buffer before I start running them. Above are work-in-progress scans of short #12. The dialogue is actually roughed-in at the first stage, but I've deleted it her...

Female Franky Pinup Sketch

Another preliminary sketch from my series of "little pinups". I love Frankenstein's monster images; the theme has endless potential for visual ex-ploration. I botched the first color sketch for this design (never try out new media when in a manic phase), so I'll have to try again.

I don't know about you, but if I was Dr. Frankenstein, I'd have started with the bride and stopped there!

Snuggles

I have a growing list of pieces that I've finished in black-and-white, but are awaiting color. This is one of them. It fits in with my "Beauties and Beasts" series, and I'll also be including it in a sci-fi/fantasy portfolio I'm putting together.   I must confess, though, I love the black-and-white phase. Maybe because, like everyone, I started with pencil; but then again, I work completely differently in pencil than I used to. Who knows. I'll pos...

The Last Fire & Brimstone Insert Page

Here it is, the last insert page for the original Fire & Brimstone adult short. (Skip down to page 12 to see just the last page.) Thanks again to the commis-sioner for making this possible, and for allowing me to share the pages here. Let me know what you've thought of this little venture, and if you'd like to see more like it in the future. Also, what characters you'd like to see get the "bonus pages" treatment. Cheers!

The Penultimate Fire & Brimstone Insert Page

Only a couple of pages left. Jose, you might want to look away for these last two pages. Also, it occurs to me that our diminutive heroines might have a #metoo moment on their hands (and faces, and tits, etc.). This jerk of a demon should be hauled in front of HR and given a stern talking-to. Although, in Hell this kind of behavior is probably standard; it might even be his job. Which just goes to show that we need more female demons and demons of color in executive po...

Can I Come in...?

This piece might seem a little familiar. Recently a customer asked me to recreate the cover to the first Boneyard collection in a pinup. So I did. And because it wasn't going to be the cover to an ostensibly all-ages comic, I could get a teensy bit risque with it. So enjoy the underboobs, ya filthy degenerates.

And while I've got you filthy degenerates, can anyone recommend a good (and hopefully free) program for makin...

Response to Comment

Responding to Jose's comment on the Hawkgirl pinup, I just wanted to be clear. I'm not saying that piece is badly done. Despite my wife's opinion that I am too harsh in my criticism of my own work, I believe I have an accurate assessment of my work: critical, but fair. I did a fairly good job on Hawkgirl, there. But it's a single image. I would not be able to apply that style to an ongoing, more realistically-drawn sequential story. It's just too different from the style I d...

Hawk Girl

Another rare foray into superhero territory. Again I find myself wishing my style had veered a little more mainstream. Or that my drawing skill sets were a lot broader. I have stories I'd love to do, but my style just isn't right for them. (Any aspiring artists out there looking to break into a shitty, dying industry...?) And   speed! How can you get slower  at something the longer you do it?  I should be Speedy ...

Fire & Brimstone short--next page

Sorry, folks. When you never go out, one day is the same as another. I basically go off my wife's work schedule...and she had Monday off. So I was thinking that was Sunday, and...well, you get it. Here's the next of the commissioned insert pages (page 10, if you want to skip right down to it). What I like about this page is it shows that, as sweet as she is, Brim' isn't above a little petty revenge.

Tigra pinup

It won't come as a surprise to most of you, I'm sure, that I rarely dabble in the realm of superheroes. When I was a kid, I read Iron Man and The Hulk, The Avengers, and pretty much whatever I came across. This was back when a kid could save his milk money from lunch and buy a comic for a quarter at the market on the way home from school. (Ah, the past, always better than the present. Today sucks so much. ...But wait--that means, people in the future wil...

Second Fire & Brimstone insert page

I wanted to leave a note about the kinds of adult material I do, and don't do. (And here I'm talking about my own shorts and pinups, as opposed to commissions. Commissions have their own rules, but are largely exempt from my own preferences.) Basically, the scene or short has to be genuinely erotic, which may seem obvious, but it's not. Most adult comics--to me, at least--are not erotic. There are some beautifully rendered comics out there (many technically far superior to m...

Faerie Pinup Sketch

This was supposed to go up Saturday; I'm not sure what's going on with Patreon's scheduling feature.

I'll also post the color sketch I did, in preparation for the painted version. I only have a few markers (do you have any idea how expensive  those things are? holy shit, they're just pens ! Copic, I'm looking at you...!), but I happened to have colors close eno...

Fire & Brimstone adult short

As you may know, I asked for help coming up with scans from the original Fire & Brimstone short, and several of you came through. (A big thanks to everyone who helped with that, by the way!) I cleaned up the original pages, as well as the insert pages I was commissioned to do, and I'm going to start posting them here, starting with the short as it originally ran. Then, in separate posts, starting Thursday, I'll run the insert pages.

Deja's Moonrise

One little character detail about Deja that I never got around to showing was her habit of mooning people on the upper floors of skyscrapers...especially when she's drunk.

Realizing now that I should have run this on that recent blood moon, or whatever the hell it was. Crap.

Pinup Sketch

I've started a series of pinups, and that means filling up a sketchbook before deciding which ones to paint. This is one of them. (A lot are probably going to be faeries, because I just enjoy doing them.) The smooth (non-pencil) shading on the right is an artifact of my scanner, leaving a dark haze on one side. I did what I could in Photoshop to minimize how noticeable it is, but my digital skills are nil.

We Have Scans

Okay folks, stand down. Repeat: stand down. No further action required. And those of you sharpening knives...just stop. It's creepy.

I've received scans of the pages I needed to start posting the Fire & Brimstone short, so we'll start that next week. Many thanks to those who helped out. You guys are great.

Fire & Brimstone short...?

I'm going to be posting some commissioned insert pages for an adult Fire & Brimstone short I did way back when, but it occurred to me that I might need to post the original short, too. The short first ran in A-Bomb, then was collected--I think--in Horny Tails. (And by the way, that title was not my idea. I HATED that title. That was the last time I let someone else title one of my books.) If anyone has a digital copy of Horny Tails, it would be a big help if you could send the F&B pag...

Rub-a-dub-dub...

Another unused Far West cover. Not sure which issue--#1, maybe...? I think I still have some of these. I know that, among the batch of pages I recently stumbled across, were a number of Far West pages, including a cover drawing for a mini-series I never got around to, called Far West: Under Covers. Meg was going to go "undercover" in a cathouse to catch an especially dangerous outlaw. The concept (which I don't think has ever been done) was to do it as a straight, general readers series, but ...

A commission of Paris and Abbey in the morning, and one of the first times I drew any of the Boneyard cast doing the nasty...albeit a rather sweet and loving nasty. I should do one where Paris returns the favor.

Velma pinup commission

Being a lifelong fan of monsters and all things spooky, I always wanted to like Scooby Doo, but the humor was lame, and I hated the cop-out endings. Until Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated. Have you seen it? It's a totally fresh take, with tongue-in-cheek humor and smart writing.  Check it out, if you get a chance. (Just don't expect Velma to appear as she does above. That would only happen in my     version.)

Boneyard volleyball short, conclusion

Well, it had to come to an end sometime. Shorts are, by their nature, not long. But there will be more to come. And some good news! While looking for a very important project (which I haven't been able to find--that's the bad news), I discovered what scientists call a "shitload" (metric, of course) of past pinups, commission, penciled pages from a few unfinished adult shorts, and scripts from some adult shorts for titles like Far West and M'Lady.  So look for those to start appearing her...

Update

Just in case you're wondering where the new comic content is, I'm still cranking out commissions to cover vet bills, hence the adult Boneyard short and the pinups. Above is a commission I recently completed, offered both as proof that I am in fact working, and as an example of what I mean when I say I don't always "get" the requests I receive. But I don't make judgements, and when you're working with a great customer--and someone I've known for quite awhile now--you don't ask que...

I have some good news, and some not so good news.  The good news is, I found all the original pages to the  Boneyard  swimsuit issue, so I can finally post it online. The bad news is, because they're in gray tones, and my scanner sucks, I'll have to scan the pages in sections and stitch them together digitally. Unfortunately, the program I have for doing that sucks almost as badly as my scanner. I'll figure it out, but it'll take awhile. But the upshot is, monster girl...
