Earthworm Jim - Fastrom

So this game was programmed for fastrom, it even has code to set $420D to 1...yet fastrom is not enabled in this game. Why?

Well, stepping through a debugger, it appears that the Data Bank register was set to 7E instead of 00, so it was trying to write #1 to $7E420D instead of $00420D which is where the register is located.

A simple hook and small additional code was enough to fix it.

Update 3/28/23, no fix on graphical issues after a complete redo, but more data from slowrom now being read from fastrom. Fixed SNES9x by moving interrupts back to slowrom.

Updated 11/10/23, redone completely, all DB calls and interrupts now running in fastrom.

Steel Talons - Fastrom (Fix)

Steel Talons is a game that never should have been released...its slow as all hell.

It shipped as fastrom, however, the interrupt routines ran in slowrom.

Now its all fastrom for a *little* extra oomph.

On the same original post, the patch has been updated to version 1.1, fixing the graphical issues.

I can't believe I actually pulled this one off! I was literally about to just let this one sit for a while but I couldn't stop myself, I kept picking at it...and I got it!

You'll find NO executions in the $8000-$1fffff range after the first 5 boot lines.

I hope this has some significant speedups!

Ashita No Joe - Fastrom (Fix)

This game was fastrom, but the interrupt routines ran in slowrom which ran every frame.

Fixed! Game should run smoother now :)

Kidou Soukou Dion (J) - Fastrom released!

This top down shooter is known as Imperium in the USA and really needed a fastrom boost because its got slowdowns to all hell.
