Your Early Release Feed

Edit: This information is out of date as of May 1, 2022. We no longer offer the Early Release perk, and have replaced it with other stuff.

Edit (3/3/22): The march continues to keep this post updated to add answers to peoples' questions. If you use Pocketcasts see the new section for the best way to add this feed to the app. If you download episodes manually, there are instructions for that, too.

Edit (3/2/22): If you have previously subscrib...

Your WOFF! Special Thanks Credit

Edit: After screaming for seven minutes straight, I've fixed the "Request Permissions" error. You should be able to fill this out.

If you're seeing this, we would like you to submit the name you want to be thanked under at the beginning of episodes of Watch Out for Fireballs! If you don't submit this form, we will not get around to thanking you. If you do not wish to be thanked, just go ahead and skip this step.

Changing plans...

Hey folks. The Fireside Patreon implementation isn't ready for prime time, it seems, and because I can't handle the volume of support requests coming in. I'm going to be making a change to our near-term plans and hoping that it reduces the upset and confusion.

Please sit tight as I spend today trying to make things better. Per-show feeds will still be available if you want them, but it can't be the primary way we deliver something like the Early Release feed. We won't be folding Early R...

ORB 71: The Devil's Grip

How do you break a man who's already broken? You demonstrate that he's not even worth it. The Monarch finally gets his hands on Rusty after the events of Bot Seeks Bot, and it takes him a while to figure out how to use his opportunity. Meanwhile Hank and Dean are having hilarious adventures with their godfathers, and 21 is fully reverting to his pre-character development state.

Welcome, Tarnished

Hello and thank you, to new backers and old. If you just learned about us on a search for Souls content, or dropped off at some point and came back, we're very happy to have you here.

Elden Ring's release will bring a lot of new people here for our coverage of that show, and we want to make things easier for you. I had a number of backend improvements planned to get done before launch, but I ran out of time. And that's fine. What follows is simple FYI stuff to get you rolling as soon as...

Unfilmable 36: Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978)

Invasion of the Body Snatchers is a paranoid classic, and also a profoundly strange movie. The pod people are taking over, and the only people who can stop them are... health inspectors? Just kidding, no one can stop them! Because the fatalism inherent to this version of the movie is a huge part of the appeal. Alongside its all-star cast, of course.

Exquisite Suffering 135: The Mask

Somebody stop him! No, please, stop this horrible green man. The Mask is a very frivolous movie that's all antics and no jokes, and this SNES adaptation isn't much more enjoyable. Stick around for the back third, when we pitch the best police procedural television show ever.

WOFF 348: Inscryption

You wake up in a cabin and you're playing a dangerous game. Sacrifices must be made. And the only way forward is to play your cards right. That's about all we can say about Inscryption, an ambitious and wide-ranging card game by Daniel Mullins, the creator of Pony Island. If we gave too much detail right now we would spoil it, which we don't want to do, since it's a great introduction to deck building games, even if there are some... inconsistencies.

Pardon Our Dust: Post Tags Audited, Fixed

Hey everyone! Kole here. As part of the back-end changes I'm making in advance of the release of Elden Ring (which we hope will bring more people to the Patreon), I've been doing a lot of backend housekeeping to make things simpler here on our Patreon.

I've spent the last 36 hours or so hand-checking every post on the campaign to make sure all of their tags are correct. This also entailed culling some old announcement posts (about things like short episode delays), separating the newest...

Bonfireside Chat 201: Dark Souls: Nightfall (Demo)

It's pretty rare that we will dedicate a whole episode to something as slight as a demo, but Nightfall is worth it. This full conversion mod by a team led by the creator of the Daughters of Ash mod seeks to create a full sequel to the original Dark Souls. It will feature a new story, new characters, new bosses, and whole new gameplay systems. And while the demo is short, it grants you an extensive look at what will set Nightfall apart. 2022-02-20 22:37:02 +0000 UTC View Post
