As you'll hear shortly in this episode, Gary got a bit sick so we only covered three issues instead of our usual four. Everyone send good vibes to the G man in his time of crisis.
Meanwhile, here are the issues:
Wolverine & the X-Men #18 - Nod to Ollie
Uncanny X-Men #18 - The Big Fiery Phoenix Bird
Uncanny X-Men #19 - The Professional X

Everything To Guppy is a bite-sized, four-times weekly comedy/gaming podcast in which Gary Butterfield (Watch Out For Fireballs) and William Hughes (The A.V. Club) attempt to analyze every single item, boss, character, and concept in the rogue-lite video game The Binding Of Isaac. They manage to pull it off only slightly less than 50 percent of the time.

It's a great episode, we just there was more of the robot date! The hunt is on as the OSI starts tracking down leads, singling out a single member of the Guild Council: Vendata. And it just so happens he's gotten into online dating. One Ghost Robot and one Galacticon costume later, the noose begins to tighten.

The two most unlikely subplots and characters return and collide. On one hand, "Ted" is in danger, even if "Ted" is just a talking teddy bear that once "kidnapped" Rusty, and now Hank and Dermot are using the toy to keep their dad busy on the phone so they can go gig. Meanwhile, Dean has remained in contact with Myra, Rusty's old bodyguard and, possibly, the boys' mommy (she's not). But all roads converge at the Dunwich Asylum for the Criminally Obsessed.

Is it here because it's a late entry in a beloved series that changed hands? No, it's here so we can joyously talk about the opening cutscenes. It's very hard to be mad at this game unless your favorite unit got nerfed. Then you'll hold a murderous grudge for life.

The world's gone to shit, and the only way to stay alive is to work together. You start State of Decay playing a man named Marcus, but very quickly you gain access to a whole settlement full of simulated survivors, and are given the goal of building and stocking a home by breaking, entering, and scavenging... all while fighting off hordes of the undead. The management sim elements are a little too light, and the story is rushed and unfinished, but this is still the consummate B-game and we re...

Thanks Abe!
Is it metal? It's metal. It's undeniably badass in a way that is extremely appealing to our skeleton loving souls. The game itself is a pretty frustrating and dated RTS but our eyes are open to the coolness of the Warhammer world.

Billy and Jimmy are brothers. One's a Dragon Master, one's a Shadow Master, until they're both Dragon Masters because a Shadow Master comes to town. It's dumb. The whole show, honestly, is garbage. It's hard to look at, hard to listen to, and it's a really bad adaptation. Avoid at all costs.

Hey folks, Gary here.
So I have spent a couple of days working on it, but I simply can't get Aliens Vs Predator 2 to work on my machine. It runs, but no matter what service pack, patch, or mode I run it in, it's very choppy and framey in a way that will impact play. Which sucks! Because I was really looking forward to playing it, but alas, that's how it do be sometimes with old pc software.
SO! Instead of doing AvP2, Kole and I are going to cover something we've been w...

Hello! This is Kole here, the resident person who is bothered by details.
You'll notice the Bonfireside Chat post titles changing in the next little bit, mostly being renumbered. As part of some back-end changes I'm making in advance of the release of Elden Ring, I'm dropping the "BSCR" moniker, changing the post-return episode titles to be simply "BSC", and renumbering the episodes so they're all part of the same number continuity. So the recent Returnal episode of Bonfireside Chat won...

We chose this game on the basis of a misunderstanding, because the UK doesn't know how to name candy. What we thought would be a game about those sweet, sour, chalky tablets, ended up being a game about big M&Ms. Would the game based on the chalky candy have been any better? It's impossible to say, so we'll say yes. Yes, it would have been better.

Note: We've added an addendum about Weapon Augments at 53:58. We regret to omission.
Who's ready to get yelled at? We gave it an honest shot, but Returnal just didn't win us over. So this episode is about the first biome, the generalities, and about why we think this isn't a good roguelike (which doesn't mean we think it's a bad game!). We were super intrigued by the story and the atmosphere, if that's any consolation. This is likely disappointing for you, but I ask th...
