Created by Raven Software right before they were exiled to the Call of Duty mines, it's a fast-paced shooter with ambitious but under-explored time manipulation mechanics. You play as an American special forces soldier investigating a disturbance at an old Soviet military facility called Katorga-12, and by the end of things you could end up with godlike powers.

Adaptation Decay 54: Kirby: Right Back at Ya!

We're as surprised as you are that this turned out to be okay. But it's kinda fun! We know that Kirby's cute, but he'd also be a nightmare to live around. This 2003 cartoon presents the reality of having a Town Kirby... a pre-verbal infant cosmic monstrosity who can destroy homes on a whim. Though we disgree with his methods, we have to say it's hard to fault King Dedede for wanting him gone.

Exquisite Suffering 124: Tail of the Sun

It's not enough to be weird! This early PSX game is about a tribe of cavemen who wander a mostly empty void, eating cookies and maybe collecting bones to make into a tower. We run out of steam talking about it, so we switch to a nuclear grade digression that you'll have to hear to believe.

Watch Out for Fireballs! 328: Katana Zero

It's rain-soaked, neon-soaked, and blood-soaked. It's Katana Zero, an action game that takes multiple pages from the Hotline Miami book. You play an unnamed contract killer with the unlikely ability to manipulate time, and you're in the middle of a conspiracy that has a lot to do with your sordid past. The play is great, but does the additional emphasis on story work out?
