Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a great night! I pretty much slept through it, but i managed to see the clock at 12:02 lol.

The image above are a few sketches that I am still working on for my next youtube video! They have been extremely difficult, but they are all past that difficult point. The reason being, is that I was referencing screenshots of regular people walking through town in a video. Trying to take their gestures and unique outfits and make something creative from it is really tou...

My Figure Drawing Journey!

So this is a pretty loooong 49 minute video of me going through all of my artwork (at least on my ipads) from 2017 to pretty much now. Please forgive me for sounding a little quiet at the end, I did this all in one take and never talk this much normally lol. As always, please feel free to ask if you had any more related questions and I'll be sure to answer!

December Week 2 Reflection!

It's definitely been an exciting month for me so far. I feel like I have found my brand/stride with Youtube and at the same time, I am seeing pretty nice results with my artwork.

With Youtube, I finally feel like I have found my voice (literally lmao). Sharing my artwork and my journey while encouraging/inspiring others is really all it is. I want to lean into that with all of the unique qualities of mine such as being soothing, thoughtful, motivational, relatable, etc. I love rea...

TLDR:

This is an announcement that the $10 Training Tier will be closing permanently by January 1 2022.

All Patrons enrolled in this tier will still receive the rewards for this month (December), but you have until January 1st to adjust/cancel your pledge and sign up for the main $5 teir. If you do not do this by then, Patreon will charge you $10 and you will not be signed up for a tier (which means you probably wont see ANY rewards! I will make more reminde...

Hey Everyone! I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving! (and also make your Black Friday deals lol)

Today, I released my updated video on coloring with blending modes!

I've done a video on this before

Next week, I will be sharing the full greyscale painting video for Hoyeon here on the left exclusively with all of you as my patrons. I will voice over a portion of it as well! Either that, or ill make a slow, only 2x speed version of it.

New Youtube Video!

This was a bit of an introductory version to the breakdown I provided earlier this month! It goes over the 5 Main Artists (and group) that I take inspiration from for gesture.

A couple honorable mentions I didn't have time to get to were Aaron Blaise and Will Weston!

Loish Gesture Masterstudy

Hey Everyone!

This month, I wanted to bring part of my studies to tier, which was this quick study of Loish and how she employs gesture with her hair. I am still sloppy and impatient when I draw hair so I wanted to share the first steps of my process with you all today.

Heres a quick timelapse of where I polish up both drawings at 4x speed:

Mid-November Artwork & Updates!

Hey everyone, I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far! I wanted to update you all on what I have been working on this month so far! I think doing two updates per month going forward will be more reasonable after looking at how things are going and also with some of the changes I'll talk about in a second. Also, stay tuned tonight for the next Artist Breakdown series dropping! This month is Lois Van Baarle, aka, Loish!

This month marks the 1 year anniversary of my decision to get ser...

Snow Curtain {Widescreen!}

I just wanted to share the full version of my latest piece here! It was a long journey learning a bunch of new softwares but I cant wait to be done and back to drawing again! I think I might try some more motion stuff out but I want to do alot more 2d things before then, but do it in a way where I can come back and edit something like this later when I have time. That way I can also pick the best one so its worth the 20-30 hours I probably put into learning all this stuff and making tons of m...

Short Animation WIP

Helooo Everyone Happy Friday! (its Friday somewhere lmao)

I have been tinkering away all week at this animated bit in the video above. After the whirlwind last month trying to draw something new everyday, I really enjoyed sitting down and working for hours on the same drawing...watching it evolve over time. New ideas slowly coming to my head, changing things, reworking things etc. Its actually gotten to the point where I decided to make a much larger scale illustration like I used to do...

New Youtube Video!

I'm back on camera to tell you to draw from Imagination!

I have been wanting to make this video for awhile, sharing the benefits I have found for drawing from Imagination! I think everyone should take time to do it and discover new things about themselves.

This was my first video that I filmed with my new desk setup! I had always wanted to nice "seated at the desk" look for my videos, all of the Youtubers I enjoy watching have nailed it at some point or the other. The only p...

Updates!

Hey Everyone! Happy Wednesday!

Its been tooooo long since I have posted here so I wanted to let you know whats going on!

As far as rewards go, I will still be providing them all at the end of the month, but the weekly sketches that I usually share will be postponed until November. This month has become extremely busy with life stuff (biz + family issues that have improved now) and I'm still not quite in a comfortable place with where my career is headed.

Theres lots of...

New Video Posted!

I just released a new video going over the basics of how I made my recent Animation! My goal with this video was to try my best to go back to my roots...to take something complex and show it from a beginners perspective.

I think a big reason people enjoyed my very first tutorials, was that first off they were relatable, I did things that people were interested in doing, and I did it from their perspective. I think the other reason is that it was interesting. Theres tons of beginne...

Week 41 Sketches!

Happy Friday!

This week was an interesting one, sure I did some drawings for Figtober but the big thing was creating an animation in TWO DAYS. Two days of 8 hours of work just for a little over 1 second of animation lol. But it was extremely rewarding and fun. I am very excited that I am so close to my goal of being able to do about 3 seconds a week. I see myself in the future making more animations on a regular basis a way to just create new art, and grow my skills with anatomy even fu...

Drawing 50 Hands!

I wanted to keep posting my new videos here at the same time as before, but I had forgotten  this weekend :/

Unfortunately, this video did quite badly on my channel so I think it would have been better to  save it for a Patreon exclusive, where I talk more in depth about the process of drawing the hands the whole time.

This is the dilemma many educational artists face sharing content online unfortunately (I'm going to vent a bit here lol)

I have recentl...

Week 40 Artwork!

Happy Monday!

Last week was an incredibly busy and frustrating week for me. As you may have heard in the discord, I had to pause streams due to some ongoing family issues thats adding a heavy load to my mental space right now.

As for the artwork however, you can see that I did more days than not for my #figtober2021 challenge! Are any of you participating? It's been extremely rewarding to see me growing and doing so much better than last year. Forcing myself to get something...

Would you consider yourself a Beginner?

I've been thinking about whats the most effective way to teach something / learn. I have this feeling that theres a big tendency for artists (esp me) to overcomplicate whats necessary for someone to start off with any topic. Like maybe, telling everyone to start with the fundamentals is actually not the best thing to do...but we THINK it is because in hindsight we see the other things we did as a waste of time. How many artists ACTUALLY started with the fundamentals first? How many interviews...

October Updates!

Hey everyone! Happy October!

I have finally opened up the Training Tier! Like I said last week, you can simply switch over and join that section by paying an additional $5 (or the equivalent in your currency) without double paying for the month. I am currently working to submit some content this week for that Tier to get things started! We will be breaking down TBchoi's work. Thanks so much for your patience and support!

As for the Learning Tier, not to worry! You will actua...

Bayonetta Drawing Self Critique & Review!

Hey Everyone! (aaaand Welcome new Patrons!)

Like I mentioned before, I wanted to give you all a bonus video this month to share my thoughts on my recent Bayonetta drawing. I hope you enjoy it and find it helpful.

I will be adding a new tier this week, along with posting a google drive link to everything I have shared this month so that you can have everything easy access in case you missed it.

New Youtube Video!

Hey everyone! Happy Monday!

I thought I'd also start sharing my Youtube posts here as well for better continuity. I am still working on my decisions after the last poll I made (thank you guys so much for voting btw and your comments have been very helpful!) But I thought I'd give you all a bonus video discussing my thoughts on the Bayonetta Piece as well! Look out for that video tomorrow!

Like I said, I plan to revise the rewards structure so that everyone can get more video...

Bayonetta 3 Fanart Sneak-Peek!

I thought I’d share this Bayonetta 3 fanart early! This was a spontaneous drawing during my the Friday Twitch stream that turned into a great show of my improvement so far. (Especially with the anatomy course I am taking cuz check that pose tho😌) It’s an interesting comparison to the 2018 painting you see on the third slide. It’s too much of a style change to really show too much growth, but that took me four hours back then, while the sketch for this took me 2. I can’t wait to sho...

What type of video is Most Valuable to YOU?

Hey everyone! We have smashed 250 Patrons this week! Thank you all SOO much for your support. This was a huge goal for me and pretty much means that I can evolve this Patron to the next level.

However, I have got to thinking that I should ask you all what type of content you enjoy most before I make my final decisions for the new Tier. Many times, what I think is the most valuable type of video, may not be true and it always gets harder and harder to relate to others as you improv...

Week 38 Sketches!

Hey everyone! Hope you are having a fantastic weekend so far.

I’m very happy with the progress I have made this week - I feel like I have learned a lot through my homework that was completed for my Figure drawing course with Will Weston. I also spent some time tracing what I did onto some images to help train my brain to get used to the new drawing strategies - but more on that later today.

I spent some time working on my portraits as well to keep the skill fresh since I felt my...

October Q&A Video Submissions!

Hey Everyone time to submit your questions for the next Q&A Video!

You have until then to think of any questions you may have about anything art related! I will do my best to answer and if not, share the best place I think to get a great answer.

Week 37 Sketches!

Last week I gave myself a little challenge to do a character sheet for Nani Pelekai from Lilo and Stitch! I also downloaded tons of artwork from Pinterest to study from! (attached below)

My current goal is to get down gestural drawing faster, and draw faces faster. I feel like I have unlocked a huge new level of anatomy understanding from my course, but want to brush up on my speed and faces to make sure those skills don't lag behind. I feel like if all it took was 4 hours of lecture to...

Second Homework Submission!

Happy Friday Everyone!

This week during my Figure Drawing course with Will Weston we focused basically on overall construction methods with a little extra focus on the front torso area.

Many of these were  a struggle simply because trying to do something a different way than you are used to is challenging. However, I was always focused on trying not to rely on the shape/contours that I saw in the reference to get the drawing right.

I've drawn over 350 figure...
