TWICE What is Love? and Yes or yes albums

Oh boy.

These are definitely my least favourite albums.

It's like they regressed this year in terms of bsides cos I remember enjoying some bsides on the previous mini but this got REAL chaotic REAL quick haha.

Mina's voice is a Godsend man, she lights up every song for me.

I'm very excited for 2019 era though cos I'm pretty sure the chaos era will be behind them.

NEXZ Nallina Album

Another disappointing chorus in that title track BUT so many other ingredients that work really well.

They're definitely one of my favourite boy groups though. I'll be checking out their dance videos for this era on youtube though.

I forgot to rate Eye to eye but on second listen whilst editing i'll give it a 6.5.

IRENE Like A Flower Album

The best solo debut i've ever seen!

The assuredness, variety in vocal delivery and cohesiveness of the whole album yet every track still feels individual.

Everyone including me have found pure joy from hearing her belt more! Like she literally did everything in this album and her love for R&B makes me happy cos she sounds SOOO GOOD.

Something I'd like for her to work on for future albums would be letting her voice sit in the middle of the production more and to space ...

MAMA Performances 2024!!

IVE - go on girls give us nothing. They can definitely get away this vibe of being laidback but for an award show it leaves A LOT to be desired.

VIVIZ Voyage Album

There's something about these 3 member groups/sub units, they're KILLING it.

I think they've done wonders with their music/choreo and branding because now I'm really looking forward to Gfriends comeback if they have a mini or full abum because I'm sure VIVIZ will bring new fans!

Their bsides had a lot of potential too which I wasn't expecting.

KING TAEYEON REIGNS.

The vocals here were FUCKING insane.

Hearing her have more strength in her belts shows she's in a healthier space physically and mentally here I suspect.

Thoroughly enjoyed this. I WISH these vocals were on a song I adored man but it's FIIINEEE, she deserves to expand her catalogue and do genres she loves.

His personality may be my favourite surprise on any of these episodes.

He's INSANELY loveable, open and vulnerable. I feel like he's GENUINELY a good person with a good heart and I think he truly deserves the world.

JIN Mujin Service

On one hand, I'm so glad he sang multiple songs, something I would've loved for Jimin to do. On the other hand it's a shame it didn't follow the format of the show and was more of a self promotion format which is fair enough because he is a member of the BIGGEST group on the planet so that's a fair compromise.

I really enjoyed hearing more of Jin's voice. His CONTROL especially when it comes to his vibrato and intentionality shows how comfortable he is with his instrument.

A young voice with a lot of potential.

Her low range is really her money maker BUT I do see her having a great upper range if it is developed properly.

I think once she stops pushing the higher notes and mixes her voice a little the sound will be much better, fuller and balanced.

MISAMO Haute Couture

Some light in the darkness.

The first half of this album is FANTASTIC! They are exactly what I want in a girl group right now.

Strong sound with a specific message that feels unique to them! They also have some sensuality mixed in with creative production that has some 60's references but also futuristic touches?

I dunno but their A&R is on POINT!!! It's a shame they chose weak title tracks in terms of length and then a cover song? This album deserved do not touch but...

Taeyeon Letter to Myself

This is why I hate it when people claim i'm biased because I say something about an artist THEY love. Little do they know that for me If the music clicks it clicks, if it doesn't it doesn't. I don't care who it is.  This is probably my least favourite Taeyeon album sonically even though vocally it's one of her strongest if NOT the strongest.

She did things I've never heard her do before regarding her high belts whilst experimenting with new phrasing styles once again.

ATEEZ Golden Hour pt 2

To save me from writing an essay i'll summarise my thoughts as this.

We need some new producers to expand how ATEEZ produce music. vocally and production wise overall.

Perhaps their current producers COULD do more but KQ has a sound in mind. I'm not loving it and not because it's not my taste because one of my favourite things is enjoying greatness that isn't my taste but simply because it doesn't sound right.

FLO AAA album

My favourite thing about listening to good western r&b is hearing the soul and emotion that is sooo familiar and so many kpop groups try to emulate but fail to execute!

The young has some of the BEST intonation and pitch I've heard on this show. Though his voice is not the biggest or most technically proficient, he also has sooo technical things DOWN.

The practice he put in shows. There's great subtleties in his melodies. I'd love to hear him sing more r&b songs and hear him move around a song with that specifity he has!

Babymonster Drip Album

If there's one thing BM are gonna give, it's VOCALS.

Thank god YG is starting to make a lane for them, this feels way more exciting. The bsides need a LOT of work, it baffles me that a company as BIG as YG doesn't HEAR how low effort/quality their music can sound at times. I feel like they're using OLD demos for the most part and don't want to invest too much in new music and pay new exciting talent to stay innovative.

WELL, it was literally after I finished filming everything and went to discord and saw half the guys apologising for this album?? On one hand it validated my thoughts on not understanding or feeling the album at all, something was sonically off for me however there were still many great moments, I don't think it required an apology.

I love this guy so much it's insane.

His wit made this one of my favourite mujin episodes, if not my favourite in terms of dialogue. He's soooo cheeky but reserved. Lord knows what goes on in his mind that he doesn't say!

This really showcased how beautiful and sweet his voice is. If he took singing more seriously he'd really have it all. He just needs to incorporate some dynamics to really unlock the full range of his voice.

Karina should give herself WAY more credit!!

She's a stellar vocalist with star quality in her vocals and an open sensual full voice especially in her mid and lower range AND she can be sooo versatile with her delivery. She's absolutely a main vocal by 5th gen standards which means she probably wouldn't have been able to debut in the last couple years lol.

You can certainly hear some habits she's picked up from Winter but I think she's grow out of those when it comes to belting ...

You KNOW.

They're one of the very few boy groups that really gag me although saying that my list is longer than you'd think haha (NEXZ, EVNNE, Xdinary etc) but this was just so FUN.

The VOCALS and vocal production here shows you CAN have it all, jarring kinda boisterous music yet it's not annoying lol. Beautiful choreo that feels expressive but also aggressive. Sunwoo is such a SPECIAL idol, I truly love him and how he just is. Juyeon SHINED here also.

OMG?!

The level at which these girls take singing seriously is SO REFRESHING. The detailed questions and the range in which they deliver their lines shows they've been training their vocals extensively. Yeji is a great influence as leader I think. Full of discipline and focus.

I enjoyed this a lot. I'd love more songs that explore Lia's lower jazzy mature tone that I hear.

They really delivered and I'm loving all the content for this era cos it's deserved.

ENHYPEN - En Clock ep 92 & 93

Loved Jungwon's energy in this so much haha. He was not letting anyone rest.

It's a shame the concept was kinda half baked by the producers and could not be a little more layered and challenging as could be which I discuss in the video.

They still managed to be entertaining though. Sunghoon had some stellar moments, Jay too.

ILLIT I'll Like You Album

Similar issues with triples here, the vocals leave a LOT to be desired. Yunah has moments though that shine but overall the laid back vocal delivery just starts to get a bit empty after a while.

The production is pulling it's weight though which is fantastic but still, just makes a lot of new gen music sound interchangeable between artist since they sing so similarly.

The title track is okay, bit safe but the opening track was great!

I can't lie to you, this album shocked me for the most part.

I WISH they had some strong vocalists that deliver charisma and feeling in songs because I could see myself stanning them cos they dance well, have interesting concepts and are entertaining on variety shows.
