Checkup

I'm on schedule with writing. Things were hard last week with a migraine and general stress, but I took time to recenter and find solace with friends and with writing this the story. Still a bit out of it, but getting better.

Expect the next chapter to arrive on Saturday. I hope you'll enjoy.

I'll also try to spend some time this week to make it easier to find all the chapters and keep track of which ones are the current ones and which are the earlier drafts.

February/March 2025 Plans

Feb 1: Finding My Own Way Chapter 2 (rewrite) Part 1: Ben's first day in class and he be skittish.

Feb 15: Finding My Own Way Chapter 2 (rewrite) Part 2: Ben is avoiding Alex and Alex takes note. Things come to a head on Friday morning.

March 1: Finding My Own Way Chapter 2.5: Things are looking up for Ben and his swim friends take notice. Ben thinks about his relationship with Alex. Alex invites Ben to a party.

Update

I finished updating the rest of Chapter 1 v2 of Finding my Own Way. I will be working on fixing Chapter 2, which I expect to include extra material that I want to include before Chapter 3.

I will share the updated Chapter 2 (current + new scenes) by January 25.

(WIP) Finding My Own Way - Revising Ch 1

I'm working on my revision to Chapter 1 and 2 and wanted to share what I have so far for Chapter 1 before too much time passes. I will spend some time this weekend working on the rest of Chapter 1. Comments are most welcome.

January 2025 Plans

I've spent a good amount of time the last few days working on Ben's character and motivations in more details, and thinking about the Finding My Own Way story plot in greater detail (more bird's eye view). I also reconnected with bits of my own past college experiences and have found new inspiration from those moments.

My plan for January is to focus entirely on getting the first two chapters up to snuff because in hindsight they feel rushed and disjointed and getting Chapter 4 underway...

(WIP) Ch 3 v3 - Finding My Own Way

Here's a further revised version of chapter 3, which takes the original dialogue from the first version and adapts it to the situation of the second version. I hope you enjoy it. I will work on adding an extra scene to one of the earlier chapters showcasing Ben with his swimming buddies in the pool.

December Update 2024

First off, I'm finally done with physical therapy for my arm!

Second, I'm tired. 2024 has been a wild rollercoaster, and I'm looking forward to the holiday season.

I will be working on Finding My Own Way, doing my best to create entertaining content, and following some awesome suggestions from comments and suggestions on my Discord channel (including adding some early scenes / revising current ones). Holiday One-Shot Story

I've been feeling crazy tired since early last week, so I'm really looking forward to relaxing during the upcoming holiday weekend.

Creating a book: Drone boot camp

Greetings everyone!

I will be using part of this month to turn Drone Boot Camp into a book, which I will submit to Smashwords. I will be revising the order of initial events, altering dialogue, exploring each character’s journey more and adding more descriptions of the process and their reactions. I expect this to perhaps double the length.

My goal is to publish before the end of the year and have at least a physical copy in my hand in time for the holidays.

November 2024

Hi everyone,

We are getting close to the end of the year and the holiday season is coming (and the flu/cold season).

My plan for November is to work on Finding My Own Way and, if I get time, finishing the History of Master Jake.

My arms are getting stronger, which is making doing things like typing and cooking a lot easier. I still have a few more weeks of physical therapy to go, but at least things are looking better.

I made some adjustments over this week, which are up through page 10. My plan moving forward is to add some more dialogue between the characters, then the drones arrive to take them in, and then finishing with the interaction with Master Jake.

October Updates

Medical News: My left arm is doing much better now. It's not writhing in pain, but it is still pretty weak, so I will have to keep it in a wrist brace for at least another week to avoid overtly aggravating it, especially when I sleep.

My right arm has been pain-free, though definitely tight after being in a wrist brace for three weeks. Physical therapy is helping with that, and I'm hoping that over the next weeks my arm will keep getting stronger.
