Let's be honest: The setup flow on the dashboard isn't too clear. There's different settings for the /open command and ticket panels, some of which are shared, some of which are not. It's a bit of a mess.

By my recollection, it's been over a year since we last had the autoclose feature enabled on the bot. It was initially disabled after it ended up flooding Discord with requests, disabling the bot for an hour. I put in some fixes, like excluding guilds where closing tickets failed and queueing requests with a heavier delay, but I decided against re-enabling autoclose after hearing about the upcoming release of threads, and their auto-archive ability. A while ago, someone suggested to me that I integrate a "modmail" feature into the bot, through which users can open a ticket via a DM with the bot, as well as being able to open tickets the normal way.
In modmail style tickets, the user will DM the bot throughout the whole process, and messages will be relayed between the user's DMs and a staff-only channel, without the user.
