There's no wrong way to start a song, but where you start can obviously have a huge impact on the rest of your creative flow! In this video I explore what it's like for me when starting from five of the most common starting points for songwriting.

I didn't realize until some of the comments were rolling in on this one that it's been a while since I did one of those foley tracks! I'm glad folks continue to enjoy them. :)
I made every sound in this track with a new soap product from Dial, who sponsored this video, and also hired me to create an ad that they're using now. Always a fun time to flex the sound design and beat making skills while going super high quality on the video production!

I've decided I want to share mini sample packs with you on a fairly regular basis. I create so much original audio when I'm working on music or videos or just messing around in the studio, I figure you may as well get some use out of it! It also alleviates some of the pressure/boredom of compiling large "proper" sample packs. If I made 20 cool sounds one week, I'll just share them with you right away.

Howdy folks, two new videos for you!
I discovered a cool way to make new percussion samples out of reverb, which is one of those so-simple-how-did-I-never-think-of-this-before kind of ideas. Possible with both hardware and software, and anyone who tries it would probably get unique results since it depends what reverb you're using, what you're feeding the reverb, and your taste in volume/filter envelopes. Some of you may remember this song that started with my Subharmonicon demo video. I realized it could be applied to my current situation with Horace, so I fleshed out a second verse and bridge with that in mind.
Not sending the music out yet because I ended up finding two things I wanted to tweak with the mix 🙈 but this will be part of the Spacetime album that I'll be dropping next month!
