As we transition to a new semester I’ll be introducing some new key characters to DOGHAUS👀 You might’ve caught sight of one of the new characters in the Halloween Sunday strip, and I’ve been waiting since the beginning of the comic to introduce her. She’s had a lot of tweaks to her design since I first sketched her out, and as she gets incorporated into the story I’ll share those sketches with you all.

Early Comic Sketches, 2022/2023

Here are what some of my sketches of comics look like from the earlier issues, I'm a really rough sketcher and when I lined things I usually just eyeballed over the rough sketches which is why a lot of the first 50 or so comics are pretty loose/sketchy. It was always important that I kept these super simple because I was also juggling full time art school work that was super demanding.

Goooooood evening, Roosters! This month you’ll all be receiving a PRINT of the whole gang!!

Chapter Wrap Up

Thank you all so much for reading this chapter and sticking by it for all these months, it definitely took longer than I anticipated to get it all out. It sure was hefty, but I hope you all can appreciate the length of these more narrative driven storylines. I’ve been reading so many comments on here and Twitter and Webtoon, and I really appreciate how it resonates with you all. Doghaus is a lot of “firsts” for me in terms of being a storyteller, and hearing people's feelings...

Halloween Sunday Special

WIP #2 Halloween Special

I thought some of you might find how I deal with color for a comic that is very much not in color interesting. I like to grab inspiration from pallets on the website Coolors, and then I kind of mix them up in a way that I think looks nice. Right now I’m just blocking out basic colors on the page, and then I’m going to go in and add more intricate values/hues to make the characters pop out a bit more.

Sasha & Maggie, 2022

You guys remember Sasha?! I do. Wonder what she's up to now...

I found some sketches that survived my old iPad of the first story arc exploring some of Maggie and Sasha's dialogue and dynamic. It was so new for me to do something like this, and looking back now I cringe at it a little bit because I think I could rewrite it a bit better haha, but people seem to still like it which makes me happy :')

September Stickers Golden Ticket!

Hey Roosters! The Stuart & Jillian stickers have been sent out, and one of them (picked at random) has a little additional sticker :) Kind of like a golden ticket thing, so keep an eye out for being the lucky one!
