September 5e stats available!

Hello - the 5e stats for September's monsters are available at last! Beware the cosmic horror, Sahresh - she is an extremely nasty, mythic encounter and is the kind of BBEG that would finish a campaign (or cause a ruthless TPK) The PDF is attached to this post, and included in the monthly file folder link. This post will release for free to the public in a few days. Alex worked very very hard on this set and came up with some awesome mechanics! Additional lore and flavor text by yours truly.

October Previews: Demoni ex Machina (inspiration from AI)

Hey everyone!

Thought I'd try sculpting some stuff inspired by all of the crazy images coming out of MidJourney AI and its explosion in popularity over these last few months. I mostly took images from the posts on our VoidRealm Minis Discord server, where there is a channel for AI prompts. It's really cool to see what everyone's prompts generate and October will be a very unique month with lots of useful creatures for tabletop encounters! Special thanks to Bjorn, Celestou, JBSnickerdoodle, VincentenFuego, Sayantagonist, and everyone else contributing to that massively inspirational AI-art channel!

It was a great exercise to get me thinking outside my normal artistic tendencies and push my concepts a bit. I didn't follow the images precisely, just let elements push me in certain directions. I'm particularly happy with the two "Gibbering Spider" sculpts that arose from this workflow. With 9 unique models, this is one of the larger releases I've been able to put together for you all - THANK YOU to each and every one of you for supporting me so that I can take these risks and challenge myself in new ways as an artist!

September lineup: The Cosmic Tree

...Here's the VoidRealm Minis full lineup for September. This release has a mixture of classic monsters and originals, and you could use these in encounters ranging from simple woodland encounters to scenarios with a more mystical / spiritual / cosmic feel. The cosmic horror in particular should be especially versatile on the tabletop, as she has two upper torso options and would work great as a demon general for an army or as a unique BBEG. Alex and I will get some awesome stats written up for you all for all of these! The full lineup is:

1. Sahresh: Unraveller of Worlds (cosmic horror, 150mm height to tip of sword)

       *Spider head option also included.

2. Treant Shaman (large, presupported at both 32mm scale and 75mm.)

3. Eldritch Banshee (regular, check out the throat mouth)

4. Elder Stump (regular, living terrain / unique NPC)

5. Nebular Aboleth (large, this can serve as a classic Aboleth but will have some unique abilities with its stats)

5e Stats for August models are ready. They are in the monthly files post (in the Google Drive folder.) The Asteroid Mimic stats are available in this post for free for everyone.*

I've got 4 varieties of Yith that I've prepared for you guys for August! They're all pretty similar, just with limbs repositioned and switch around to get some tabletop variety :)

Eldritch Lich (AUGUST preview)

The Eldritch Lich comes with 3 options for the parasitic mouth embedded in his belly. I'm having it presupported by Atlas at both 32mm and 54mm scale, for those who want to paint up a more collectible version of this bad boy.

Asteroid Mimic (AUGUST preview)

Directly inspired by Junji Ito's Remina, the Asteroid or Planet is a ~35mm sphere that is meant for "ship scale." It will be really easy to rescale and resupport for larger or smaller prints, though!

There's three versions - inactive, awakened, and "licking." All come with a slot for a .125" rod.

August will feature more monsters that will fit easily into a Spelljammer setting - enjoy!

July previews: Beyond the Dreamlands

In celebration of VoidRealm Mini's second anniversary, I invite you to venture Beyond the Dreamlands with this set of VRM originals in July.

"...If you traverse into the far east of the Dreamlands, you may stumble upon the ancient and ever-moving city of Thuule. The Scholars of Thuule staff the fabled library that chronicles the geography, denizens, and strange encounters amongst the Eastern Desert and beyond to the Bridgelands, a place that even master Dreamers only know by name. Still, you may attempt to embark from Thuule, cross the Eastern Desert into the Bridgelands, and reach the VoidRealms beyond.

Before departing Thuule, travelers wishing to receive a blessing will offer their innermost thoughts and desires to the Dreaming Worm in exchange for good fortune and luck along the way. Sometimes, the worm can pull up forgotten or repressed memories, or cause those who maintain contact with it to re-experience some of their worst nightmares or beautiful dreams - usually the former.

The Eastern Desert near Thuule is known for the luminous and mildly sedative quality of its sand. There is said to be an Augur wandering the sands, foretelling the future with traced lines that he offers up to the winds. He will provide travelers wisdom and a reading of the sands... for a fair trade.

Stalking the Desert is also the dreaded Dreamlands Manticore, a huge beast known to many as the Carnivorous Sphinx of the Eastern Desert. It may appear savage, but the scholars believe Manticore follows a ruthless logic and is extremely intelligent. If spotted, it is best to try and hide within the sand until it leaves the area.

Those who do reach the Bridgelands with its constant lightning storms and shifting gravity can feel the thinness of the cosmos here. Perhaps it is from some rupture or tear in the Dreamlands through which the horrid Ish'vak: Dragon of Eternal Nightmare first entered these realms, or perhaps Ish'vak was the vile result of one of the moon sorcerers. Reports regarding its origin and appearance are all contradictory. It makes his lair amongst the high ridges in the Bridgelands and guards ferociously the passage beyond into the VoidRealms. Its three heads and planar-shifting nature cause some of the Scholars to speculate that the beast is actually 3 separate entities or demi-gods from some vile, forgotten cosmos."

I hope you all will enjoy this set. As usual, we will get 5e stats for all of them so that you can implement them into your games with ease. I really wanted to make this month about original concepts and creations that you all haven't seen before, as well as give you guys an original, Elden Ring-like dragon that I hope you'll enjoy (150+mm tall with over 200mm wingspan!) I really enjoy sculpting these and imagining how they all fit into the same, overarching Mythos.

Please let me know what you think of the sculpts, lore etc. and a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me reach 2 years of producing minis from the VoidRealms!

June Lineup! Return to the Dreamlands

Hi all! Thrilled to reveal this Dreamlands lineup for you all. I hope you like it! I really enjoyed the chance to design some classic Lovecraftian monsters and do my own take on an avatar of Yog Sothoth. More info below!

Umr At-Tawil: The Ultimate Gate (Yog Sothoth)

Umr At-Tawil is an avatar of the unknowable cosmic entity, Yog Sothoth. In the Dreamlands, Yog Sothoth will rarely manifest a small amount of itself as a hooded figure, flooded with rotating orbs and surrounded by a shadowy cloud of thunder, from which mouths gibber a thousand truths from past, present, and future. Tentacles writhe from its mass and a single, cyclopean hand beckons travelers to enter its cosmic gate. Some purport that the Gate of Umr At-Tawil, known as the “Ultimate Gate” is a bridge to an existence completely outside all of cosmic reality, wherein lies Yog Sothoth, Azathoth, and other Ancient Ones as yet unknown to mankind or any sentient species of the multiverse.

Gargantuan Aberration, Chaotic Neutral

This "mini" is the epic boss for the month, total height around 175mm. It is intended to give a mystical, religious aura to an encounter and would make a great Guardian or protector of some kind of plane. Of course, the snarling mouths and tentacles add a more nefarious aspect to this being. Use him as a seeker of knowledge, an omniscient god, or as a manifestation of Yog Sothoth itself!

Cats from Saturn

“It was one of the army's outposts, stationed on the highest of the mountains to watch the one foe which earth’s cats fear; the very large and peculiar cats from Saturn, who for some reason have not been oblivious of the charm of our moon’s dark side.” -HP Lovecraft

These cats live on the rocky rings of Saturn's Dreamlands, hunt in packs, and love to eat Earth Cats! About 30-40mm tall.

Zoogs

“In the tunnels of that twisted wood, whose low prodigious oaks twine groping boughs and shine dim with the phosphorescence of strange fungi, dwell the furtive and secretive zoogs.” -HP Lovecraft

These mysterious forest dwellers are simultaneously cute and unnerving. The Elders have a sunken, humanoid like head, while the youths appear more leporine (rabbitlike.) About 30mm tall.

Gugs

“It was a paw, fully two feet and a half across, and equipped with formidable talons. After it came another paw, and after that a great black-furred arm to which both of the paws were attached by short forearms. Then two pink eyes shone, and the head of the awakened gug sentry, large as a barrel, wabbled into view. The eyes jutted two inches from each side, shaded by bony protuberances overgrown with coarse hairs. But the head was chiefly terrible because of the mouth. That mouth had great yellow fangs and ran from the top to the bottom of the head, opening vertically instead of horizontally.”

Gugs are highly intelligent like Gorillas, but extremely antisocial. They worship the Outer Gods of Kadath, the Cold Waste, and prefer to pulverize their food / prey / sacrifices with their four arms.
