2024-04-03 21:17:50 +0000 UTC View Postif you have any problems its because this is 3.6, just press A to select all objects in the scene, open a new file in whatever version you are using, and right click to choose "paste objects"
simply opening old files into newer versions of blender sometimes has issues but this is a nice fix around that.
recorded this sometime last year and totally forgot it was in my folder!
posting the download for the project file in the next post for tier 3 folks.
ima also bring back the weekly modeling challenges! might start doing more twitch stream ;) get in thereeee blend up!
im tryna be on here more, sometimes ill peep the watch times on some of these videos and its like "average watch time: 40%"

this is really the hardest effort I put into a human model. im realizing the reason I couldn’t make better people before was literally not spending enough time on it. I’ll get around to editing down the footage of the process, but yea im trusting my process a lot more and just like not giving up when spending hours on 1 vertex placement lol.

a few nature assets for yall to use however! the plants all share the same image texutre, try tabbing into edit mode and moving the UVs around to change the plant!

this is the DEMO texture pack, its a little chaotic but these are most of the textures i relied on off and on for the first couple years of blender.
they are all either AI generated, hand drawn, or otherwise copywrite free
((besides that one halflife backgroud lol))
first batch goes to you guys hopefully these are helpful if youre struggling to find usable textures!

been playing a lot of dark souls 1 and theres this waterfall in it that uses a cool UV mapping technique to make the streaks longer when the water is falling faster.
this is the node setup if youd like to try n recreate it!
if youre familiar with the whole weight painting process but are confused by it then you might find the 5:45 and 12:00 minute marks to be the most interesting.
for those new to weights, this isnt really a tutorial but more of a "watch me struggle with the hardest area of blender" video.
im not gonna lie, this was a really hard video to make. Ive tried to do this before, and i always just get burnt out in the middle of talking about what im doing because i keep encountering error...
if you follow along with the video and still have issues with the rigid body stuff, go ahead and inspect this file and see whats settings you need to adjust!

Im really enjoying more hard surface modeling lately, using sub div modifiers first then applying it and making more adjustments after to put the really fine detail. cant wait to texture this thing! the reference came from midjourney AI.
