Lulshi Commission - Magical Oversight Page 11

Huh. Don't think I realized we hadn't submitted one of these since April. Either way, we've caught back up to having more vibrant colors now and gotten a little bit more of Kayla's backstory.

Kayla having druid-style magic was something that I think came from workshopping this idea with Lulshi, I think mentioning that was a type of magic she'd managed to work sometime in the past. Either way, made for a good capper for her lessons to gravitate toward.

Hero Is Also A Baby

Heheh... Who else is excited for Devil Is A Part Timer Season 2? We kinda had to rush something together to celebrate it being dropped and very happy with it. ^^

The addition here is Emi and Maou's toddler-aged daughter from the future arriving to live with them, so naturally we had to do something with the pair of them bonding over this particular subject.  

Dirtybooks Commission - Witch In Trouble

Sabrina's Aunt Hilda and Aunt Zelda have popped up to bail her out. .... And as she suspected, they're not in any hurry to help her.

Actually had to have a sit-down and talk to Dirtybooks about what exactly Hilda and Zelda would even look like for this commission. They had to still look like they belonged in the Archie art style, otherwise it'd just be weird, but also didn't want to do the green-skinned design they had in the comics proper. We eventually settled on taking their designs...

She Boomed Me!

Now this is the sort of trash talk that would hurt to hear online. Like, the kind that would never go away.

Yeah, Chio from Chio's School Road is a major gamer, so loved the idea of doing a picture of her playing a game with a lot of babyish details. In particular I loved the pokemon-themed diapers under the table and the bottles. Her teething ring also has a keyblade on it, but it wound up being sort of too tiny to see it.

Erika - Psyching Up

Heheh... This was an amusing little diddy that came together one piece at a time. It started as just a drawing of Erika, then added more and more characters, background, dialog, ect. It's one of those deals that just slowly got polished and tweaked and improved over time.

What I like about this one are all the little cameos; Karen, the girl on the left, is the protagonist of the Birthday Baby story we did on DA and is apparently friends with Erika. The Nurse, meanwhile, showed up in a...

Heh... Yeah, we got a couple of more pictures coming out with Geoff and Kevin, this being the first for a bit. Do love how Kevin is sweet and benevolent, trying his best to be a cool brother to such a big baby.

Ashen Pup Pack

Hey, in honor of Three Hopes, we've got some fun with the Ashen Wolves! And Bernadetta! This is a picture we've been eager to submit for awhile and as a tie-in to the new game felt like a good time to do it. Hoping this one goes over well since there is a lot more stuff we could stand to do with Three Houses in the future.

Marco's Mysterious New Style

Everyone remember that old picture we did with this same premise in our usual art style? For reasons we've never really entirely understood that one was actually pretty successful, so in light of how well our Owl House stuff has been going over we decided to revisit it to try to mimic the art style of the show as we did with that.

Heheh... Yeah, this is a cute little diddy. We sorta needed a bit of a better look at who Nainika is and where she came from... But an elusive form, which I sorta like. I dig that we don't quite know HOW she wound up taking care of her sons, just feels natural. ^^

In the meantime, she's giving the woman current in her body a warm peptalk. Clearly she's a toughie, huh?

My Favorite Brother

Heheh... Yeah, this came out great. ^^ Ash is such a little cutie; not hit Misfile in a loooong time but know it can get results sometimes so really curious on what the result of this one winds up being.

With all the effort we've put into making the artwork more like its source material, Misfile was a great target to revisit.

Dirtybooks Commission - Satsuki's Big Brother

Golly, this sure is another... Actually not sure the usual joke really extends to this one. Funny how that works out. Kind of a lot of Ghost Stories in relatively short order, but think this is the last one of these we've done for the time being; wouldn't be shocked if we work with the series again before too long though.

Beastbear Commission - So Startling

We were given a lot of freedom on this one, basically just told to draw a picture of one character scaring another. Naturally, we decided to make it a prequel to the picture we did a long time ago with Kyon's sister and Yuki trying to scare him; had a lot of fun doing this one, really hoping it goes over well.

Heheh... Yeah, this is a bit of a special one if you folks couldn't tell. ^^ We're really up for finishing a lot of these but we're spoiled for choice, so we'd like advice for which ones folks want to see finished.

AI Have Something to Show You

Well, this is probably going to be pretty inaccessible. Who's played AI: The Somnium Files? Just finished my second playthrough of it myself, game I really love and I'm super looking forward to the sequel next month. We've got Three Hopes and Nirvana Initiative coming out the same day, so we're doing this today on Patreon to post to DA next month while we'll get a Fire Emblem picture then on here.

Can definitely see us doing more AI at some point if people enjoy this one. Wouldn't mind ...

Gah, lot of annoyances wrapping this one up but love the result. Good way of bringing the idea of Joshie and Robbie being victims of mental time-travel and having knowledge of future events into a plotline involving their Mom. It's just a great way to emphasize just how much friggin' weirdness exists around Daylight Park. ^^

Took us friggin' forever to do it. We drew most of it waaaaay back and only later came back to finish it. That's why the hair is so feathery. We'd have smoothed it out if we were drawing it now....

Our Baby Sister

Moving this one up in the lineup a bit, wanted to start the month off strong. And who doesn't love some good fun with Kill la Kill? This one sat around kind of being done a little at a time for awhile but really happy with how it turned out, really hoping everyone enjoys it.

Big Time Business Meeting

Yeah, filler for Daylight today, Adam's moving tomorrow so kind of needed to take it relatively easily this weekend. Hopefully things should ease up once he gets settled into the new place and new job.

Plus side this is a picture we're pretty happy with, been sitting on it for a bit and felt like a good choice for filler. William's always fun, and so very professional too.
