Sorry, I owe you folks an update. It's been too long.
At the moment I'm hyper-focused attempted to quality-assure this Divinity bullshittery. Having reached roughly the 13-14th minute out of 19. A process that involves rendering the video each night, spotting errors each morning, and trying to correct them en-mass.

These quality assurance issues are often quite varied in ...

Just a brief update today folks. The edit is still much on going and approaching the final straights. Here's a shot of the timeline:

I'm just working to push it over the finish line. At which point phase 2 of keyframing commences. In which I reverse course and enhance temporarily visual effects or finish scenes intentionally skipped. Less a linear start-to-finish and more a tou...

Good evening folks. Another update on progress for Random Divinity bullshittery (part 1).
A TL;DR update:
- Editing has reached 10 minutes of 19 minutes and the next target is the 15 minute mark by Friday.
- BUT this is probably unlikely because some hours need to be spent directing artist, audio experts, or voice actors for some commissioned work I can't do myself. Making mock-ups will be a drain on ma...

Good afternoon folks. Once again, welcome to the weekend. Just to report steady progress for this Divinity bullshittery.
Right now I'm on roughly 5 minutes and 10 seconds finished out of the 19 minute runtime. Making a grindy, but consistent, 60 seconds per day. Usually consisting of 10+ After Effects comps.
A lot of this involves typing up the relevant dialogue, making sure it flows properly and is pleasing to the eye. And then flows in such a wa...

A potentially confusing update due to a drastic change in editing direction in the midweek. But here's how Divinity is going and welcome to the weekend folks:
A TL;DR update:
- After scrubbing/clearing about 11 hours of stream footage from the first Divinity playthrough (which is about 80 hours total), I'd managed to prepare roughly 1 hour and 40 minutes of useful clips.
- Rather than continuing on as I'd originally pla...

So with lots of enthusiasm for the project, I've been diving straight in on the weekend.
The initial cutting being made more entertaining by being able to steadily rewatch Divinity II again and pickup story-beats missed in the moment.
I have three goals for this initial scrubbing phase:
- 1.) Identify anything amusing and place it on the timeline.
- 2.) Identify and cut any "connective tissue" moments which explain what we're doing.
- 3.) Leave ...

Thank you very much for taking part in the prior poll and opinion bath folks. So it's quite clear that Divinity: Original Sin 2 is the popular choice. On both the Patron specific strawpoll and the Twitch version. Combining the results we get the following:

Thank you very much for the prior opinion bath folks. It was very helpful indeed. A surprising result actually. Both here and on Twitch.
Rather than the usual rush towards Arma, this time there was a lot of love for some unexpected entries like Subnautica and 7 Days to Die, Halo, Besiege and Team Fortress. And even, to my delight,

Good evening folks. I hope you're all having a nice weekend. At the moment I'm just taking a brief break between edits and planning to do a spot of fishing. But I need to think about doing a poll asking which bullshittery topic you'd prefer next.
Before I do that though, would you mind if I ask for a brief opinion bath? I need to pick 5-6 options for the poll but there's 30+ potentials. So I don't want to be wildly off-base.
Would you mind having a look at this list and co...

Good evening folks. So the rendering took much of the weekend, with quite a number of failed files at the end of it. But I think I've got a complete version if you wanted to have a look at it - https://youtu.be/L0Vs_9hFAzY
Once again, thank you for your patience!
Feedback is very much appreciated. Be it good or bad. It'll better help me adjust content in the future.

Just to give a super-quick check in folks, I was very much hoping to have the quality assurance finished by Friday, but I'm afraid that I only reached about 30 minutes out of 48.
I hauled ass over the weekend to get the remainder done. And I think all the visuals are complete now. I'm currently working on the final stage - audio balancing. Making all those tiny tweaks to ensure my voice isn't too quiet or too loud in places.
Annoyingly, for the last 3 nights my PC has fai...

Good evening folks. Once again I can only apologise for how long this project of mine is taking. We're on the 8th week and definitely in the final stages. But holy hell I'll be looking forward to getting it finished.
Thank you for being so patient with me. I appreciate it greatly. I need to do a ton of comedy stuff after this to balance things out.
Right now, the whole video is going through quality assurance work. Meaning it's edited end-to-end. And it's just a c...

Good evening folks, hope you're all well. It's the start of the sixth week of work on this video-essay project concerning The Isle.
Sorry it's taking so long. It's proving to be something of a bugger for reasons I'll explain in a moment. Currently I'm doing the following:
- Working through the various complex After Effects sequences that dot the timeline. There are far fewer now though, but there's still quite a lot of work remaining. Most of the video is just...

Good evening folks. It's the start of week 4 on this video-essay side project thingy. A progress update:
Short Version: I've finished about 33 minutes of 42 minutes of visuals. But have intentionally skipped a lot of complicated compositions. Going back and doing those now as it's more time efficient to do them in batches.
Long Version: So the process of filling in the visuals to match the audio has been going smoothly. I've managed to fill in abo...

Good evening everybody. I hope you're having a nice start to the week. On this end, I'm starting the third week of work on this video-essay segment.
I'm afraid I can't quantify precisely how far through I am as I'm sort of working piecemeal through the video one segment at a time. Mostly cruising around the middle of the edit.
At the moment though, the timeline looks like this:

Good evening everybody. I hope you've all had a smooth week.
I said previously that I was squirreled away working on some audio for a potential video-essay segment - on something related to survival games at the moment.
Specifically looking at a dinosaur game called The Isle and how it's innovating with the formula, in a way other games on the market haven't done yet. And how some customers are reacting very positively to that innovation in a pretty interest...

Hey there everyone. So with the latest project finished at the start of the week, followed by a couple of days break, I've since been pondering what to do as the next. And have been quite eager to stay busy.
What I have been doing is briefly assembling and drafting a possible video-essay segment. Though I'm not entirely sure if I'm going to launch in to a full edit, yet.
I'm more just finalising the script and recording the audio only components. Getting it to a state where I can ...

Good evening everybody, I hope you're all well. An update on the latest project. It's week three on Random CSGO Bullshittery (part 9).
Thus far everything is going smoothly. The whole video is currently in the quality assurance phase. Which means I'm scrubbing through about 50 issues, from minor to major. Anything from slight transition weirdness, to scenes that perhaps could be done better and need a second attempt.
At the start of the week there...

Good evening folks. Another update on Random CSGO Bullshittery (part 9). Apart from a couple of latter distractions/whoopsies, everything is going fine here:
Monday - Thursday:
So the text and animation work is currently underway. The standard 'moving stuff to Adobe After Effects and keyframing' job. I've managed to complete about 4 minutes of 10 with the rest underway.

Good evening folks. I hope you're all well.
So last week's task of cleaning and scrubbing footage was quite productive. I was able to label clips for CSGO, PUBG and a little bit of DayZ. And have figured out that there's enough bullshittery highlights for all three of them. For multiple episodes in some cases.
Around about Thursday, my scrubbing work in the CSGO folder started to crystallise into "hey that would be a coo...

Good afternoon folks. I hope you're all staying warm. It's so chilly here in England. A week to stay indoors under a blanket.
As is the way with these bullshittery edits, the next one gets to be my pick :)
In an alternating pattern of patreon poll/editor's choice. In that manner, I hope to be able to cover projects that would not necessarily be poll-toppers otherwise. Or just generally lean towards something that tickles my fancy.
Therefore what I'm currently doing thi...

Good evening folks. A quickie update. I was really hoping the next post would just be the finished video, but alas it's not quite there yet.
I have fully finished about 18 minute out of the 23 minute run time. The remaining 5 minutes is still going through QA.
Collectively over the last week, the number of fixes have numbered about 300 (not all that unusual for a project of this size). Now it's down to the last 8.

Good evening folks. Welcome to the weekend. It's the end of the 8th week on the latest project and good lord this edit is something of a behemoth.
It's currently in the quality-assurance stage and the runtime is about 23 minutes. I'm about 10 minutes through the QA with the remaining 12 minutes in progress. Were this a regular bullshittery then it would be on the verge of completion. But as it's double the length, I'm afraid there's still quite a bit left.
