Game Size: Small
Ambition Level: Medium
Art Style: 2D
Genre: Strategy/Survival
Synopsis: You, the giantess of the story, must survive by making various moral choices and managing resources. Will you be a blessing or a curse to the village of humans?

This one was inspired by games like Sort the Court, which involve...

Good morning, Starshine, the Earth says "Friday!"
...And now that all of us remember THAT movie, here's what I got done this week:

  • Began two different versions of a concept art illustration

I'll show off the invisible walls and the prototype pause menu eventually, I promise. >.<  For now, here's the beginnings of some concept art I've been working on this week. TWO concept arts, to be exact! Aaaaand I may or may not have run out of time, so this is what I...

Quick, there's no time to explain! Friday! Here's what I got done this week:

  • Added invisible walls around the camera to keep the player within its bounds
  • Made a functional pause menu

Can't talk for too long -- celebrating Thanksgiving today and leaving soon! I've gotta make this one quick:

Invisible walls are cool! They keep the player in bounds!

Functional pause menus are also cool! The hardest part was getting the buttons to look right, oddly eno...

Giving Thanks (Thanksgiving 2021)

It's Thanksgiving again in my slice of the world, which means it's time to give thanks! Don't worry, you'll only feel a slight pinching sensation.

To you who are here, reading this right now, thank you! Whether you've been a patron since day one or this is your first time here, I sincerely appreciate you being here! It's you guys that have kept me going all this time; without you, I probably wouldn't have lasted through my first game.

To those of you who have stuck around since Gr...

Fry Fries Fried Fries on a Freezing Friday. Try saying that 5 times fast! Here's what I got done this week:

  • Created an object pooling system to spawn and despawn the obstacles
  • Created a few variations of obstacle setups that spawn in at random

I finally got the obstacle spawn system finished! It wasn't too much work; it was just a matter of finding the time to implement the darn thing. :P I'll need to modify some numbers here and there to make the game feel mu...

Game Idea #2: Rooftop Escape

Rooftop Escape (working title) is a 3D, first-person platformer. You play as a normal-sized individual whose sole goal is to escape from a skyscraper-sized giantess whilst parkouring across the city rooftops. Think Mirror's Edge but with a very big woman hunting you down.

As far as movement goes, the player(s) will flow around obstacles using parkour, use cranes and wires to get from building to building, and potentially have unlockable gadgets to aid them in their futile run from destr...

It's time for the spookiest Friday of the year! Muahaha! >:D  Here's what I got done this week:

  • Increased upward foot speed
  • Studied object pooling

So funny thing about the object pooling... I think I accidentally used a similar system for Grape Escape's dialogue without even realizing it! Clearly this means that I'm a genius and know exactly what I'm doing all the time. :D  This time the object pooling will be used for the spawning and despawning ...

Who has two thumbs? This guy! Here's what I got done this week:

  • Changed the game resolution from 1040 x 600 to 1920 x 1080, along with several minor adjustments to acommodate this change
  • Made a checkered floor that infinitely scrolls at the same speed as the feet and obstacles

Only a little progress, but progress nonetheless! The autoscrolling floor should make it a bit more clear that the giantess is, in fact, walking. (And that you're running!)

I've got a fever and the only prescription is more Friday!

No progress this week; I was itching to make some progress on the game yesterday, but then I came down with something. I wasn't kidding about the fever! :P  It's nothing to worry about, though, and I'm sure I'll be back to good health by the end of the weekend.

Now then, I've decided that from this point onward, if I don't make progress in a week then I'm gonna tell you guys about one of my game ideas from the big lis...

Well well well, look who finally decided to show up!... Me. I showed up. Here's what I got done this week:

  • Added the second foot
  • Gave the feet alternating walk cycles
  • Made the walking speed faster
  • Made an obstacle that moves down at the same speed as the feet
  • Converted the player object back into a KinematicBody2D so that movement is more fluid while touching an obstacle/foot
  • Adjusted the feet and obstacle so that they don't stop when t...

Happy October, everyone! It's my favorite month of the year! :D  Nice, cool weather, spooky decorations, and lots of candy on sale!

No progress yet, and my anxiety is starting to grow. However, I do feel like I'm starting to get used to the new work routine. My next task is to get this drawing finished and up on DA, which shouldn't take too much time.

As always, I don't like to leave these progress reports totally empty, so this week I'd like to do an AMA! Ask as many questio...

Friday already? Man, time flies when you're working!

Sadly, I've made no new progress this week aside from learning more about Godot and the 3D modeling process. The physical toll of my new job is finally setting in and I find myself sleeping earlier and longer, giving me less time to work on stuff for you guys.

However, I don't want to leave you empty-handed for the week, so here's what we can expect in the near future:

  • The next task for Run From Me is to add the seco...

Now with color! Here's what I got done this week:

  • Gave the feet a "stomp" state when the foot is near the top of the screen
  • Gave the feet a "walk" state in which they're solid and moving down
  • Colorized the foot sprite depending on its state to make it more clear what's happening

A quick explanation of the colors:

  • White: "idle" -- not moving horizontally either because the player is on the other side or because the player is in line with th...

I have a new job!

Hey everyone!

As some of you may know, money has been a bit tight on my end lately, so I decided to throw some job applications out there aaaaaand got hired on the spot at one location while I was handing it in! I'm gonna be honest, I wasn't expecting to make this post for another couple of weeks at least.

So! What does that mean for this Patreon? Hopefully very little. I'm still gonna be working on games, drawings, and stories whenever I can; the only difference is the s...

And so it begins again! Here's what I got done this week:

  • Made the player character move
  • Created obstacles that the player can collide with (not shown in gif)
  • Made a foot that chases the player horizontally
  • Stopped the foot from crossing over to the opposite side (to give room for the other foot)
  • Added "Boo Bees"
  • Set the game's aspect ratio and made it consistent regardless of monitor size

Run From Me - Gameplay Poll

Before we begin making a game, one thing has to be decided: what's our motivation? No, seriously. What is it we're doing in the game and why is it important?

As always, I want you guys to have a say in it! Listed below are three ideas. They're mostly just settings, but the gameplay is ultimately affected by it. If you have any ideas of your own, do share! Right now is the time for brainstorming, and the more brains the merrier!

Grape Escape - Unity File

Would you like to mod Grape Escape? Well, thanks to your generous contributions, now you can! Change how Grape Stomp-chan looks, make up your own sound effects, turn the grape vat into a giant toilet -- the sky's the limit! No permissions needed; just have fun!

To open the file:

Goodbye, Grape Stomp-chan!

What, you didn't think we were gonna leave without saying goodbye, did you? Come now, we've all been stomped under her feet enough to consider her very close to our grape-shaped hearts.

While we're off to explore new worlds, she's off to go home and take a well-deserved rest. She's been stomping for over two years, you know! There's no need to be sad, though; I doubt this is the last time we'll cross paths with this kooky gal.

Oh, and in case you're wondering, she's got an apple p...

Grape Escape - Postmortem

“You’re a grape. She’s a grape stomper. You can do the math.”

Grape Escape is my very first fully completed game. I’ve started many game projects before it, but this is the only one I’ve actually concluded and publicly released. It’s a weird feeling working on something for so long and suddenly… not. It’s a bittersweet feeling.

Grape Escape began development on June 26, 2019 -- 6 months before I uploaded the demo to Itchio and created my Patreon...

Grape Escape 2.0.2 (Hotfix)

Hotfixes are like hot potatoes. You wanna touch them as little and as quickly as possible, and afterwards you really crave baked potatoes. Here's what I got done this week:

  • Added a sprite for the "Showcasers" section in the credits
