Sketching was always the most difficult part of drawings for me. Work on the other stages, like lines, shadows, or shading, is just boring and exhausting, but still simple, because you know the whole amount of work and where should be the line. Sketch - is the totally different... this stage you always have to draw from the zero, taking all from your head, if that doesn’t help - use a lot of different references, always looking to them, to be sure that everything was made right on your sket...

Uh oh! Seems another fellow tourist was unaware about exotic fauna in jungles, and find himself in a role of captured victim by one of those odd plants!
Maybe this is all just a bad lack... or maybe not bad? At least this poor fennec didn’t get caught by the carnivore plants, but this specific vine tells us that this plant still has a serious and kinky plans for its catch. Obviously, he won't be getting freedom anytime soon.

Huh, well, after moving to a new location, I was able to continue my work with my paused commissions, and I plan to finish this current art for the next couple days. The linework stage has already been completed as you can see. Next step is working with colors and shadows. I'm sure it's not suppose to take a lot of my time and I will able to post here some more progress of my work with this piece soon.

basic shadows is done! I'm still not fully sure about contrast between light and shadow, so perhaps I will do some more experiments, before finish my work on this art.

A few weeks ago, one of my friends had got a commission and showed me. Original plan was to leave the art in flat colour, and after short conversation about shading, in order to prove my words I decided to make small preview of this piece, how it could look with shadows. Well, it's took a bit more time than I expected, but current result still looks fine. Next step is a shading and colours (version from the right is using colour pattern from the basic sketch stage, and obviusly, it's suppose to be re-done)

A day ago, when I got a bit better with my sickness, I decided to slowly get back to drawing. And for a small simple practice I chose this time to draw something just for myself, before I hop again into the large commission projects. It's a first rough draft, but I think I will able to make a final linework and shading over the next 2 or 3 days, and post the final result here.
