Chapter 7.22
Hi there! I'm still on medical leave, but I happened to have a couple pages that I made right before I went into surgery! I had intended to post them before, but it ended up getting pushed aside as I got everything ready, but NOW you can enjoy a few early access pages over the next few days.

[PSD files] Chapter 7.08 - 7.11
Trying to get the scene to transition smoothly into the next color story was a little tricky, especially since the archive is a basement room with artificial lighting. I tend to go for warm colors for interior spaces like this.
I started to add more solid blacks in the inking process around here. I want to try and get more solids in, since I really like it when other comic artists use it.

Chapter 7.19
This was a fun page to make. :) A very different experiment on this page versus most of the rest of the comic. It took me a while to figure out how to color it, but I think it ended up working alright in the end.
The lines are done with ballpoint pen.

I'm not sure there's anything super unusual about these pages, but i was trying to use a lot more spot blacks in the inking phase. The focus here is on mood with the color story. I was trying to get the storm to feel appropriately foreboding.

This one took a while to figure out how to do. I had to work on this one in tandem with the next page, because of the transition. I wasn't quite sure how I was going to approach it from a coloring side, which ended up being really different than how I normally do it.
Once I figured out the next page's pallet, I was able to use that to create the color story for this page. I used the middle panel to transition into it, and there's a gradient on the page as it moves into the next scene.<...

Chapter 7 PSD files! The cover was really fun to do, and felt pretty straightforward once I started coloring it. It took a while to get drawn out (especially the grass), but ultimately the coloring wasn't too difficult?
Page 1 was a little difficult to find the right balance of sickly green for the sky. Page 2, on the other hand, went back to my old favorite of warm colors, but I tried to bring in some of the green in the shadows to keep the threat of the storm around.

Finally, we get some names to the symbols stated in the comic.
What's funny to me is I've had most of these symbols on a little cheat sheet for a while now, ready to go whenever I need them, but I think the only one that I've used of these four is 'binding' in chapter 2.
