f a s t. These are the results from the new "Attempt" video going up today. I might redo this song completely and change some of the leads to turn it into a level song (or a boss theme). Really started enjoying it when redoing it. I hope you enjoy!

Making a Bossa Nova Song

I was not expecting to get this excited over my first attempt, but things just meshed together so well in my head (at least...I think). I regret not checking out this genre sooner! I can't wait to explore different styles in the near future. I want to be able to write in as many styles as I can. It'll help me develop my own original styles, which is great, because that I get to show you all! I hope you enjoyed this one as much as I did!

Plans for this week/month

Hey, friends! I've been sitting on some "new favorite"  song ideas lately. Including a new Final Boss-style theme! It's been awhile. It'll most likely be in the form of a "How-To" video. Yep, I didn't forget about  'em!

On top of that, I want to try and experiment with new genres again (kind of like my recent bossa nova video). I looks like it's learning time again, and I'm excited to give a little more variety to the channel. Speaking of variety...

Attempting to Make a Villain Theme in 10 Minutes

This one ended with me making a legitimate song for it as well (which you guys got to download). BUT, that isn't where it ends. I managed to come up with 3 other originals thanks to this one. Ones that can be used for "How-To's". One for uh....well....ANOTHER "game idea" that I've been thinking of. I can't wait to show you those ones, mainly because they're a different style from the other stuff I've been doing up till now. I hope you enjoyed this one! 

Hero (Encore) - Shady Cicada

After making this version, I can honestly say that both of the "Hero" songs are probably in my top 5 favorite songs I've ever written. I finally found a way to mix my "jazzy" rock style with my ambient/sci-fi/w.e style and I'm incredibly happy with how it came out. While the first version is the one for the game idea, I consider this the definitive one at the moment.

Attempting to make an Anime Theme in an Hour

Well...this one worked out better than expected. To the point where it became an actual song that I worked on afterwards. Mixed and mastered by Sixteen in Mono as well! I had an amazing time making this song with you guys watching. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

New Song Idea (Free Download) FINALLY the origin song to the "good guy" leitmotif

This is an EXTREMELY rough idea. It's also the second half. The first half is pretty much the same, but there are no drums, way less instruments, and very calm piano (speaking of which, I need to change some velocities). 

The first riff (when the drums kick in) is one I'm pretty happy with. I didn't think I could turned a...diminished fifth(?) progression into something happy and adventurous. I definitely want to use the lead jingle for other stuff. The "different verse" track keep...

Plans for this Week (and other plans)

Starting off with the future plans: I'm trying to make some songs with vocalists I've been talking to. One is a mix of acoustic guitar/orchrestra/ballad/rock stuff (that is a lot). If it works out, it will be a pretty damn good and emotional song. Another is a potential commission for a game. The only issue is that the deadlines are incredibly small, and I'm not sure how I'll do it yet :'D I'll really have to buckle down, it seems. With that being said...

Here it is! If I'm being completely honest, this is probably in my top 5 favorite originals ever now. I'm incredibly happy with this one and I can see other content being formed from this song alone. Is this the final version to end all versions? Probably not. Because these are for a video game idea, they'll probably see some changes in a few years from now (if that idea ever happens). Still needs a lot of volume work, among other things. I'll be lowering the hi-hat and fixing velocities for both this version AND the original. After looking at it (and receiving feedback), they were definitely too loud. You'll be getting a free download of the updated version as well. I hope you enjoy this for now! Plans for this week

I've been wanting to do this ever since it was released, but I completely redid "Hero" and made it into more of a groovy rock...thing. The key has also been raised and adjustments have been made to leads and the synth bridge. It's called "Hero (Encore)". I thought it'd be cool to have "Encore" versions of some of my battle themes to represent a "climax" or a "nearing the end" moment in battle. They wouldn't always be more intense...or even rock. Some could be orchestral or ambient...stuff. Ei...

So this week, I'll finally be uploading my "Attempting to Make an Anime Song in 1 Hour" video. The theme ended up being good enough to become an actual original, so at the end, I have a re-recorded version (which will most likely be mixed and mastered by Sixteen in Mono). New Song Idea (Sneak Peek Download)

This is an EXTREMELY rough sketch idea with loads of mistakes and cut-offs. But someone commissioned me for an Anime Battle theme akin to "Here I Come" and "Lost in Time". Expect harmonies, orchestra, and...a cleaner song in general :'D

This is something I've been wanting to do for a long time (not because of the meme. I genuinely love this song). I never had the arrangement skill to see it through...until now. It needs tons of work. I don't think that lead melody is going to stick at all either. But the bass line and synth strings can definitely be used for something in the future. Either a full fledged rock/post-hardcore song with vocals or a battle theme...or both. Always good to have fun and experiment!
