Woodcarver - Adding colour

Quickly edited the clips I had of this progress. This is from before the last clip with Jack. ♥ The highest quality for this is 720HD as its one of the older batch.

Next video will go over adding light sources and ambient lighting. We did a small amount of that with Jack's clip already but there's a lot more still to show on this illustration.

• Would you find it useful if I added some commentary on certain stages (likely going to be writing and not audio descriptions)?

Woodcarver - Colour WIP

I've got a video of most of the colour progress, but I have to edit it before I can share it.

I wanted to go for a more fitting colour theme for Woodcarver in this setting.

The Wild Gods are meant to adjust their appearance to their surroundings. And what's the closest you can get to an untouched wild place in an urban city? A cemetery. Lots of ivy and young trees. He's still got his little mushroom pals of course.

Inks this time. ♥ I'll definitely do a compiled version from start to finish once I've worked out how to add audio. Watch me battle with Jack's face.

Jack & Chickens

WIP. I wanted to try and do a lineartless paintover sketch for a change, not actually got to the 'lineartless' part yet, heh. I'm hoping I could offer them as an option for clients in the future. I feel a bit out of my depth with them at the moment!

Would you like to see more of the client work I've been doing? Progress ones too when I have some. 

I feel terrible not being able to work on any Tistow or Small Trolls stuff at the moment, all my time is taken by client projects....

I've never actually drawn these three together. I've been massively busy and feels like I haven't really had much time to do anything fun for myself. I try to find the time to play my WoW characters on the occasion though. ♥

One of them is Squirrel of course, character that started Tistow off back in the day. I don't think the comic would ever have existed if it wasn't for her and the Gutter Runners.

Springs sendouts - addresses & rewards

Hi everyone! Just a reminder for March. ♥ If you've moved houses recently, could you please check to make sure your address details are correct on Patreon.

We'll continue sending out physical rewards around 4 times a year at the moment. I've fallen behind a tad ever since the big change, but I'd like to keep the old schedule up in the future. 

I will do a card for every season ($3 tier) and either an A5 or an A4 print ($10 tier).

Loksley's two boys. It's no great secret she's got two sons. I wanted John to resemble her a lot more than wee James.

Spring card - progress - Spring sendouts

Winter cards have all been sent out to everyone who were active Patrons in December and January. The spring card will go out in March! Familiars

I had some board leftover and I love inking on it. So here's some skulls! I've got a little watercolour set now, I'd like to paint them. See how that works out.

I've been struggling a bit the last two weeks. There's been a death in the family and my motivation and confidence has taken a big hit. I've decided to stay away from social media but I will keep posting art here at least.

Gosh it's so cold and grey outside. Not much daylight to take these photos so apologies for the camera quality. ♥

But the prints are finally here and they turned out amazing! Despite the mess up with the printers I'm pleased with the quality.

I'm going to start sending the cards out ASAP to all our eligible patrons. ♥ The dragon lady is a print that all our higher donating patrons will receive, just like the previous one!

Witches

Tried repainting the cloud BG a little for this sketch. ♥

And I've finally got word from the printers to let me know my order has been dispatched with a lot of apologies and a free delivery. =/ I really like the quality of the printer I use, but they always seem to mess up my initial order one way or another.

Spring

It's not quite spring yet! But. I was saving this for release in February, but unfortunately I'm -still- waiting on my card order for the winter + spring cards (I've been in touch with the printers about the delay), so I figured I'd share this with you early! This is the card design for Spring that you'll be getting in the post.

I've been busy with client work and catching up on commissions on top of that so I've not had any time to spend on Tistow this month.

51 - colours

Happy new year everyone! ♥ This isn't quite done but it's 99% there. Just got to do some finishing touches and fix the bubbles. This'll be the first page of the year and I'll hopefully put it up tomorrow.

Page 51 - inks - full page

Inks done! ♥ Colours next. I decided to amend the previous page ever so slightly as well. I realised I forgot to add glass from the shattered window by the fallen rocks. So that'll be updated once this page goes up.

Two new characters in this scene. One of them you've actually met before. Rob from the first chapter when Jack was getting his papers appears on this page (and the next couple following this) and Georgie.

51 - inks

Just the bottom three panels this time! I've got 2 more of the top ones to finish on this page.

There's a lot going on in these pages and for 50 I had considered adding the rats as they're observing everything that's going on (nosy buggers), but as they're something only Jack & Alfie can see and the focus is on our murder victim, I didn't want to clutter things too much.

But they're back for scenes with Jack now. ♥

Calm waters - wallpaper WIP

Absolutely tons on this still to do but I wanted to do another dragon themed wallpaper, similar to the previous Rooftops one. You'll have seen some concept art of this girl before. She's one of our wild gods and she goes by many names.
