Here is the new look of Arbonyx - the fan-favourite "tree sloth" of Snaiad. It hasn't changed much - but these animals now have fake eyespots to confuse new, dangerous arboreal predators...

Here is a spread from "Galaxy Guide" - a spec-evo sketchbook I kept between 1999 and 2002.
These pages are important as they show my first ideas about mechanical life forms such as the Gravital.
Alongside the Gravital there were also the obligatory hostile, Berserker machines known as the Waxani; and also mysterious interstellar travellers known as the Gyrhangi.
When writing All Tomorrows I went back to this sketchbook as my "lego box of ideas", and re-boote...
Spring is in the air and everyone is feeling that aeon-old stir.

Here are screentoned and hand-tinted illustrations of two new, medium/large Snaiadi herbivores. MANY new clades are being added to Snaiad, almost every day of the working week... I'll keep silent about their habitats and phylogeny for now - but I'm sure avid fans will be able to spot certain links.

You will notice that the tool-breeding, dolphin-like "Lyceeen" species depicted here is extremely similar to the Tool Breeders from All Tomorrows! Apparently it was one of "11 sapient cetaceans"... I wonder what the other 10 were like?.. :)
