After lots of experimentation with different materials, I've settled down on this style for my small-sized watercolour art: Oil-pencil outlines on half-laminated white cardboard, "filled in" by watercolours. These scans, while very crisp, cannot do justice to the bright, jewel-like colours of the works in real life.

Here is the raw drawing scan; the cleared line-art; and the final screen-toned image representing Detulazoon sp. a tiny, bug-like, stealth-hunting picozoan. Despite its insectile appearance, these animals are "vertebrates" - akin to very tiny frogs converging on assassin bugs and jumping spiders.

One of my many secret side projects last year was this series.
I found that a local bank was discarding dozens of used-up ledger forms every week. The forms had dark brown hard-cardboard backs, which were ideal for dark-field paintings. I took as many as possible and proceeded to create this nice series of light-on-dark acrylic paintings.

Not all of the infamous Snaiad "fututor" animals are vicious predators. This small, long-bodied animal, for example, is an arboreal omnivore. They still retain their lineage's wicked pelvic spikes as climbing aids and defence mechanisms.

Not all Snaiad animals are weird, scary, or rapacious. Like Earth animals, some look derpy, funny, or just plain stoopid! Here is a generalist pseudo-maquis-dwelling omnivore. It's as big as a football, but some related species get bigger.

I just came back from a professional scanner service, which I paid thanks to your donations! Now HUNDREDS of new drawings I made in student cafes, pubs and teahouses across Turkey in 2022 are ready for cleaning, correction & screen-toning. The level of fidelity in these scans is ABSURDLY good! :)
