2021-03-21 05:13:58 +0000 UTC View PostWell, this song came a lot easier than the last one. Probably because I've built up a bit of a cache for meter so I can just grab words I need to get in sync with it rather than hunting for them. That's the magic of experience, I suppose.
It also helps that I didn't have to weave a single, giant, cohesive narrative with this one. And that Sweetie Belle is new to this and singing/composing without the slightest bit of preparation. I've tried not to edit it too much along the way...

Anyway, for those of you interested in seeing a work in progress, here's a prose draft of Luna's, well, villain song. She's lawful good with a weakness for revenge, at least in my opinion, but she's definitely the villain in this scenario. There's no denying that.
I have no idea yet what meter, rhyme scheme, etc this will be in yet, but this is a crude outline of the intended meaning. It's a work in progress...

I needed something silly and relaxing after writing the latest chapter of Seeking Power (still in editing, although probably not for long). I enjoyed writing it as a breathe of fresh air before getting back into the drama of ponies. There's some sneaky canon (to KSCoB) C.C. character motivation in it (beyond the obvious), so it's more somewhere between an omake and a .5 stage.
