Ultramarine update and march schedule

Here is a wip post from the Desert Vanguard Ultramarine. You can see the nearly finished back and the half of the front. I was tweaking around with the blue colors, to get the nmm effect i was aiming for.

So the schedule for march, will contain the painting of the desert base as the first part. And the painting of the blue NMM and the bolter, and a small freehand on the shoulder as part 2 and maybe 3.

Started from the base

I must say, i really enjoy starting the paintjob with the base first. It helps me to imagine and create the mood of the model on it. I have recorded the paint process of the base, and upload it soon.

Sea of Ultramarines

I know that you have seen a lot Ultramarines in your hobby years. They like fishes in a sea. But to be honest to you, i have painted only 1/2 Ultramarine in my life, and he was dead already, slayened by Haarkens helspear on his base. So i try some blues on this vangard. I want to implement him into an desert enviroment, which shines subtle on his armor. Would you like to see some paintingvideos of it? Not the complete mini but some parts of it?

Wip of Rastus today

As you can see vestments are finished, and the head with mask is nearly done. I tried a cold color for the metalmask instead of gold. What do you think about it? Should i keep that creepy black, or better go for gold? Feedback appreciated

Painting Rastus the Charmed Part 2: More Chest

In this video i will push the contrasts of the gold NMM by mixing white into the scalecolor tenere yellow. I also cool down the warm gold a bit and clean up the transitions. Get yourself a snack and have fun!
