Emilie shows first test copy of the book!

My publisher uploaded a very long video today featuring several books. I have put together a short summary for you, in which only Loving Reaper is shown. You can see how big and thick it is, the gold elements come out very nicely.

They are discussing if the books can be shipped as early as October, which would be great because Loving Reaper will be 2 years old in October :) 

We will possibly fix a few flaws here and there so that it will be as perfect as possible. Otherwise...

You already got all the important info a few days ago, today I was finally allowed to officially present the cover on social media.

Just in case you haven't seen it yet, this was my announcement comic :) 

Phew, creating that book was such a ride lol. I'm really grateful that I can discuss designs, drafts and ideas with you, that gives me real courage and confidence that it will be good. This community is really great, thank you for being so great.

Please don't hate me, but here's another draft...

When I showed you the last two cover designs, the opinions were very mixed. Both sides had good arguments for or against the particular design.

Then I had a mental breakdown and didn't know what I wanted anymore.

That's why I spent the last 6 hours sitting down again and making a third draft. 

I have such incredibly high expectations of myself for this book, the cover should enchant people a bit and reflect the friendly nature of the Reaper. Somehow that was much easier...

New Comic

I've  had this story in my head for a while. Please make sure your pet is  always in a safe environment, be it in the freezing cold winter or  during a very hot summer. Keep them safe <3

Finding a book cover (rough sketches)

As I have shared with you before, I'm working with a publisher right now on a hardcover edition that includes all the stories from 2019 and 2020, plus some unpublished ones. So I'm currently sketching out possible book covers. I'm not sure yet if I want something fully illustrated or something minimalist? I really like gold elements on book covers, but they have to be used well or it will look cheesy very quickly.

People have asked for more interactions between Life and Death.  
Admittedly, the comic felt very experimental, I don't usually use this much color. I hope I didn't overdo it, but it was really fun to draw :)
Next comic will deal with more serious issues again, I just needed a break for something uplifting.

you surely remember the planned plushie of Spirit Cat.
As always, I want to share the creation process with you and get your opinion.

The first prototype had this grayish blue (left pic) and unfortunately you didn't see the white embroidery well on it. The MakeShip design-team then changed the colors and shape of the flowers, as you can see in the picture to the right. I really like the soft colors, plus it's much closer to Spirit Cat's colors now.
