Some progress insight

I have already shown you parts of my sketchbook, but since it takes a little longer until the next comic I will give you an insight into my working process.

I think 30% of my time goes into patching up the stories. I cannot work with pure text, I have to see the pictures in front of me, even if they are only roughly sketched. I have to see how individual elements work and if the transitions are working too. Sometimes I have to recreate comics 4-5 times before I get a real flow into the ...

One-Shot

What  are you supposed to do with all these... The basket/cage? The favourite  toy? The little bowls? The rest of the food? So many memories. I never have the heart to throw any of them away.

Life is a bit harsh to me lately, bear with me.
Grief is poetry. Tragic poetry. But I think it is useful. To grow and get to know yourself.

The next comic is a bit late, but at the moment there's a lot is happening in the background!

I can tell you that a publisher has been found who is willing to publish the planned hardcover book next year. The book will contain 20 stories, 16 already published and 4 previously unpublished. There will be some illustrations inbetween as well. The book will be available in English and French, the publisher is shipping worldwide.

Bullies in need - a little follow up

As you surely remember the heartwarming response of the people who run "bullies in need", I thought this update might be worth sharing too.

I've been informed, that they are in process of handling 23 new bullies from a drug-bust.  From the info on their FB post Oct 26, the "Not Forgotten 23" basic medical costs are in the thousands of (Canadian) dollars, and since these are animals that have no previous medical care and lived in the woods, I'm sure there will be expensive surpris...

Update:  Obviously there are amazing facilities that rescue and rehab, my comic  isn't aimed at those. There are great sanctuaries, but unfortunately  there are also some very greyish facilities.

New comic progress

A new comic is created and I move the panels and pages back and forth to create a good reading flow. It takes longer than it should, but I'm a bit fussy about it.

Art progress

I posted the WIP image a while ago, I think it's ready for now. Now I want to share the whole process with you (or rather parts of it).

1 Year Loving Reaper

One year ago today, I put the first mini-comic of "Loving Reaper" online and it went viral over night.

A lot has happened since then, many stories have been told and many donations have been made. A year ago I would never have believed that this comic series would become so big, or hat there would be comic books available to order, or that I could make such large donations.
