This short comic is several years old. Before I drew "Loving Reaper" comics, I had a similar concept in mind about a homeless rebel stealing food for homeless animals.
His name is "Hagen" and he shelters these animals in someone else's basement (Haha, does that make any sense?).
I never followed the story up and never uploaded it anywhere. Too bad actually, I like the colors I used here :)

Our little friend is finally in loving company :) as it should be!
Personally I think that the budgie comic was the worst of all. But maybe I'm biased because I grew up with Budgies.
Saying that, no pet deserves neglect and abandonment.
I wanted to draw this comic for a long time, but I never knew how to approach this issue. In my childhood all my friends had budgies, all of them were put aside somewhere and left alone. Treated like "annoying" decoration. Don't get a bird if you can't meet its needs.

Although I have the story roughly in my head, I'm struggling a bit with the storyline right now. Probably I have to "puzzle" with the panels again so that the story runs smoothly.
Oh and my last sketchbook is now officially full. If there is any interest I would like to film a sketchbook-tour and share some thoughts about past stories, but also unpublished concepts with you :)

Patrons could order my comic already MONTHS ago. But two weeks ago we could finally open our webshop for everyone. We were sold out within minutes, the shop even collapsed because it was so overloaded. So my small team and I spent the last two weeks sorting, signing and packing the comics. A huge pile of work and lots of stress, but I am so grateful that my art is appreciated like that.
I had to lay out the signed comics in front of me so that the signature could dry. Somehow the mark...

I am working with all my strength on the next comic, despite the raging summer heat. But I must admit that my concentration is suffering from the temperatures . I apologize if that makes me seem a little inactive.
Nevertheless there are bonus pages for my patrons again :)
(Maybe I should make a comic about not leaving pets and kids in the car when it's that freakn hot)
I may be creative, but I'm terrible when it comes to creating a logo. So currently I'm running a competition on "99designs" to find a logo that I can use for my comics and merchandise.
There will probably be more suggestions, but these are the logos I've got so far to see in which direction it goes.
I wanted to share this process with you, since I trust your opinion. Feel free to share your thoughts :)

Since the character design of "life" was long and nerve-racking, I thought I'd show you her process of creation.
At the very beginning I wanted to draw a very flowery woman, a kind of "Mother Nature" (hence the green skin), but somehow I felt that was too much of a cliché. The Reaper's design is very simple, she should somehow match him, but not completely outshine him.
I wanted her to be full of life and energy, so to speak "the flourishing life itself".

It was a lot of fun to draw this comic, but I think the heartbreaking stories are more my style 😅

I'm working on the next comic. This time a rather "positive" one. Don't worry I'll stick to the sad stuff, but people kept asking for something "not so sad" and I felt challenged.
A new character will be introduced, but it is not yet certain how often this new char will appear in the future. But let me know how you like the new rookie :)

I am currently collecting all my watercolor drawings, sketches and designs that I have ever made for my comic series. Then, one day, I will publish them in an extra book and call it "The Art of Loving Reaper" and it will be beautiful :)
