Lust is continuing her sure to work any minute now strategy of beating Tolli about the head until he starts to like her. It's the foundation of all good partnerships!
But I wouldn't call this mission a bust! The team got to hang out some crime-fightin' singers (the only good kind), Sloth got to steal an album and get it signed, Vi gets to gloat about going to a place with that much fancy neon. Wins all around!

At the end of Mercs, we got to see grown-up teenager Clem, so how about her buddy What-If character, Ryleigh, the daughter of Rhett and Lust? Ry is going through her awkward teen goth phase straddling the line between human dad and demonic mom. She seems to be rocking it, property damage aside.

There we have it, the last page in Mercy and Roland's story! They're a happy couple, they have a darned cute kid with supernatural powers, they're buddies with some gods and a mad scientist and her robot gal pal, and they run a camp for folks mixed up in all this mess! That sounds like a pretty happy ending.
Looking back through my files, the first page has a date stamp of August 19, 2011. That's 9 years of Mercs! I don't really track my start dates, so I kind of had no idea....

Mercy is all-in on embracing the anime mom aesthetic. And you just know she hugs and coddles Clem in front of the whole camp just to torment that baby girl. Secretly, Clem is totally cool with this and is fine lording it over everybody else that she basks in parental devotion and love.
