New Year, New Things

Phew! I hope everybody's been having a good start to 2018 so far! I've been keeping myself busy by drawing all sorts of goodies!

I don't know how much of it I want to show just yet but the image up here's a little somethin' from a storyboard I'm working on.

Even though it's a small production, I figured that it'd be good practice to put together model sheets for the cast. I hope you enjoy these!

Sketchbook Saturday! (November 11th)

It's the first official Sketchbook Saturday! Where I show off one of my favorite sketches from the week.

This week, we have some alternate stylings of Connor, one of the heroes of G33X. The main drawing was inspired by the proportions of the avatar character in Sonic Forces, which I haven't played but I've been seeing a lot of stuff from/about it.

Thanksgiving Short (Day 9)

Whew, yesterday was a much-needed break from the project! Today is a simple scene without anything too fancy going on. It's nice to get back to drawing these guys after quite some time, though!

New animation for a new scene means it's time to toss it into the animatic, too!

So a few months ago my hard drive died, right?

I've heard the stories about artists losing their files and their warning of backing things up, as I'm sure we all have. "This would never happen to me" I thought, and even when it did before, when my external storage drive died a few years ago, I thought to myself: "There's no way it'll happen again!"

I was wrong. So very wrong.

Since I was being a little foolish and not backing up my files like I should, I lost a massive amount of work. And I mean massive!

I've had this computer since 2009.

I had been working away at all sorts of things up until then. Almost everything: gone.

I've managed to save some things and other files have turned up from dropbox, but the bulk of it is lost to the ages.

So, what's with this picture, you ask? Well, it's a reminder of one of the 3D models I'd lost in The Incident.

Always find ways to back up your stuff, folks!
