Future Videos / Articles

This shift to doing articles + video is forcing me to make things further ahead of time. I can edit a post to make corrections, but you can't really edit a video without causing a lot of problems, so I need more time to go over the scripts and quadruple-check everything. A great example is my most recent video where I said that id Software made Quake 4, when it was actually Raven. Now that mistake will be up there forever and youtube commenters will remind me of it. Forever.

Andromeda is Over, So What's Next?

Obviously the Spider-Man series is still ongoing. I also have three different half-baked projects in the works:

1. A history of video games.

2. An analysis of Jon Blow's new game engine JAI and a discussion on what's going on with game engines these days.

3. A ranty bit on Fallout 4 that gets more dated every year, but which has a few gripes that nobody else has covered.

Upcoming Novel - Done Editing!

As I've mentioned on the blog, I've written a quasi-cyberpunk novel. It's actually a bit less punk and slightly more noir.

We're finally done editing. It's amazing how long this takes. My wife has read it twice. Five different friends have read it. A professional editor went over it. All of those folks found typos, missing words, spelling problems, or ambiguous phrasing. Each pass over the book has resulted in tangible improvements.

Spider-Man Done!

My upcoming retrospective on Marvel's Spider-Man for the PlayStation 4 is done! I've been working hard on it for the last six weeks or so. If you're curious, here are some facts about the series:

The series is 25 entries and 51,000 words long, which is is 2 entries longer than my current retrospective on Mass Effect Andromeda. This is a bit surprising. I have a lot more gripes about Andromeda, so you'd think Andromeda would be longer.
