I debated on how I wanted to portray Meiling and Zhang's relationship for a long time. I considered a version of this comic where Zhang was drunk, leaving Meiling and Martin alone, and then having him come in at the end. But eventually I decided to settle on Zhang enjoying watching Meiling instead.

One of the things I wanted to focus on in this scene was Lorraine's eagerness to not only hook up with Ricky, but also to complete the fantasy. He mentioned earlier how sexy the bun and glasses look was for him, so Lorraine is happy to accommodate and fulfill his fantasy.

This page had a significant change from the pencils to the inks, which should be pretty obvious when  you look a the final panel in the pencil version. After finishing the pencils and scanning them, I decided I wanted a sharper jump cut in the visual to the final panel.

I feel like I don't do this specific panel layout very often, and I thought it fit well for the situation. It allowed me to have those panels that gave some action shots, while keeping the focus on Ricky and not his partners. Plus a more dynamic shot for the characters talking. If you look at the pencils, you'll notice the scale of the characters is off, but rather than redraw them, I just decided to fix it while inking and scale things a little better then. One of the benefits of digital ink...

A little more "behind the scenes" info... originally that extra zoom in panel wasn't in the script, but I thought it fit nicely. I think this is the first time I've done this specific effect for a zoom in on something, using the dashed lines and box. I was on the fence on whether or not to do it, but I think it worked out okay.

Sorry for the delays

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to catch up on things like I hoped I would. This has led to a couple of the things I would normally have posted in January to now be posted this month instead. I am planning on working on the Suggestion Box poll winner and hopefully have it posted on Saturday.

And the goal is for the Meiling comic to have at least 3 pages posted this month as well. I'm hoping for 4, but February is a shorter month, so we'll see how much I am able to crank out.
