Gaben's response was lightning-fast, like he'd solved that question before. I really hope he elaborates on it in future, because he could have any number of reasons. Hardware, service, platform, games, even the form factor - I'd love to know.
Hey everyone! We'd mentioned it before, but very shortly we're looking into expanding the team further - so we can bring you even more content.

No Shadowlands on console isn't that surprising - if it ever happens, it'll likely be with a pretty huge UI revamp at least. Maybe 2022?
At any rate, some nice news going on here. I look forward to Eiyuden Chronicle, and Fall Guys is that kind of super fun party game I wish I could play more often.
Respawn's employee review doesn't look good, and speaks to a misunderstanding of how far leadership should go. Beyond that though, we just have a bunch of news about games to get through!
Shadowlands is making a lot of changes, and lots of them are positive. Better stories, a better gameplay experience in many ways, immense amounts of customisation and a whole lot more.
We'll address all of our worries in a video coming up on the channel soon - but for now, here's why we're excited!
Stadia is pushing against the wind - Click to Play and an exclusive multiplayer game is exactly what they need to get their niche on lock. They'll need to be a bit more explosive than slowly rolling out features they'd already promised, though.
And Dragon's Dogma anime is a go! The idea of getting a big-budget sequel on next-gen has my heart racing. Obligatory:

Both Babylon's Fall and Skull & Bones today! We'll be lucky if we see either of them in the next few years, at this rate. Babylon's Fall just seems to be taking forever, and Skull & Bones has probably been at least 4 different games at this point.

Sony working closer with Epic after the UE5 demo only makes sense. Having UE devs work closer with console devs can only really result in better games.
And boy, all that juicy Valve stuff coming out is wild - I really look forward to watching Geoff's documentary.
Thanks for your support, everyone - see you tomorrow for the weekly!

$100 skin bundle for Valorant - sounds about right, knowing Riot.

So much loot this month, and the next in our big afterlives series! We'll get BTS process content posted on this in a few days.

One of the biggest lore revelations yet: The Titans might not be who we think they are. There might a huge, huge history to the universe that we're about to get completely sucked into.

I've never really been excited about a videogame movie. I've never played Sleeping Dogs, but Donnie Yen playing an undercover cop taking on the Triad in what's ostensibly GTA China? Sign me up.

A quiet enough day for drama, which is great - it means we get some news about games! I'm really looking forward to playing Horizon on PC. I just hope my PC can actually do it justice.

Running a little bit behind this week - sorry! Today, we have a brief look at Samwise Didier and his iconic artstyle. It's incredible how the foundations built by a few lads can still be seen throughout the game today.
2020-07-06 08:36:53 +0000 UTC View PostWe've already seen the first hints in the alpha: What we know about the WoW universe might only be a small part of the picture.
There's an entirely new cosmic faction involved heavily in the Shadowlands, and related to Azeroth.
We have a lot of theories already!
The FGC is undergoing a pretty drastic transformation this week - a long and troubled history is being upended, and their most prestigious tournament seems to be the biggest casualty.
Also, what's going on with games getting TV shows? The Last of Us and Witcher I can understand, but Fallout and My Friend Pedro?

$70 games are the future if NBA is anything to go by, but everything else seems to be going pretty well. A price hike won't be too bad... provided they keep all the other monetisation out.

Japan censoring a western game, Nintendo apologising for an old mistake and THEN pulling competition out of the market - what a wild ride!
Crucible being "unreleased" is funny in that schadenfreude way, but it certainly shows maturity on the developers' part.
Starbreeze are back with some more cash to throw into Payday 3 - hopefully their longstanding issues are over and development can continue without drama. Hyper Scape looks like it might be interesting, but shadow dropping a big streaming-focused battle royale might become trite before long. That said, I'm excited to see Ubi Montreal on a pure gameplay-focused game, and their stream chat integrations look pretty fun.
Retro Studios are going to have to really blow our minds with the MP4 reveal - the game has been a long time coming. I'm looking forward to seeing what Square Enix have to share though, they've been pumping out some quality games recently... let's just not think about Left Alive.

Today's been a real scorcher here. As for the news, nothing ground-breaking but bits of drama and updates here and there. Hope you enjoy!

I can't explain just how badly I'm tempted to pre-order Tony Hawk's just to get in on that demo action. Nostalgia for good games is really powerful!
2020-06-24 15:15:01 +0000 UTC View PostWe recently discussed where Blizzard could take us *on* Azeroth - but what about everywhere else? We're going to the death realms soon, but there are many other realms and quite a few planets we know about... but have never been to. Basically, Blizz should stop teasing us and make an Ethereal expansion already!
Mixer is dead, and with it, xCloud may be chained to the behemoth that is Facebook. That's quite sad, but most other news is actually... really good! Crash not being on PC is sad, but with the next-gen consoles due soon enough, actually playing a game on console might not be as much of a nightmare as it is now. In certain ways, big-name publishers are starting to actually behave.
Yeah, I find it hard to believe too, but hopefully it continues!
Crash looks really fun! Squadrons looks great! I feel like there's karmic backlash waiting in the wings with this many fun-looking games on the horizon. What's going to go wrong to make up for it?

This week, please enjoy Gerard's outright pining over Metzen as he describes the inspirations for early Warcraft. As a big fan of the Draenei, being reminded of the original depths of their suffering hurts a bit, though I can't help but agree - Warcraft was really metal, and it was cool. Following its evolution over the next few weeks will be fun!
Thanks for your support!

Cyberpunk delayed again, probably meaning 2 more months of a death march for CDPR employees, but at least they're unwilling to release their game in a sub-par state.
Hopefully releasing after next-gen doesn't impact their sales - offering a free upgrade on both should alleviate that.
Horizon not at launch isn't surprising, but it might disappoint some optimistic fans.
Personally, I look forward to Stadia's event. It's always fun to see what they bring to the table and think the wider audience will be impressed by. They're a bit of a punching bag for core gamers at the minute, but at least they persevere!
