Sticker ad + Quick comics

I'm excited to finally have some stickers made! I've been meaning to do this for many years. I had a great time taking staged pictures of them all.

And here are a couple quick comics (European bird edition):

This comic takes place in the Plaza de España in Sevilla, Spain, where I was briefly thi...

The Lost Mitten - Collaboration with the Perry Bible Fellowship

Nick from The Perry Bible Fellowship first messaged me about doing a comic together over a year ago to celebrate PBF's 20th anniversary. I'm a big fan of his comics (particularly because they are drawn traditionally and beautifully), and I was excited to see how our comics would work together. After knocking a few ideas around we finally decided on the story of a lost mitten that meets a bird and is given a new life (or has it tak...

The Stuff

This comic has been knocking around in my head for years. Here's a very rough draft I've held onto since first coming up with the idea:

Makes me wish I dated even my sketches! I think it's got to be at least 5 years old.

I had a lot of fun drawing these crows of course, but it was also rewarding to work a little larger and with non-square frames for more of a comic booky feel. Here is the...

I've been playing Ocarina of Time (1998) for the first time and am struck by how PATIENT people had to be for video games. Love those nintendo 64 graphics though. It's also way kookier than I expected!

What are some of your favourite 20+ year old games?

I had this comic ready to go a few weeks ago (icicles are long gone here) but I agonized over the dialog and then left for a two week trip without finishing it. I wanted to make the 'screw you, winter' message a little stronger, which is a feeling I have since gotten over.

Expect the next comics to have a little euro-birdy inspiration! 🦜🇪🇺

Drawing Practice

Hey buds!

For the past couple of weeks, I haven't been feeling very confident about the comics I've been drafting. So to distract myself in a fruitful way, I've been doing a lot of gesture drawing–which is an exercise meant to capture form and movement within a restricted period of time. I never went to art school, so even basic exercises can be new and revealing experiences for ...

I spent a few nights in Ontario with my family this week to celebrate my dad's birthday. Happy birthday Dadoo! Here he is getting some air on a tobogganing tube.

A wild blizzard blew through, leaving us with a bunch of snow. The next day, we found a field near the house that had been windswept down to a layer of crusty snow. With the wind still going hard, my brother had a genius idea and grabb...

Book information + new comic

Hi friends! I thought I would give more information on the book since it seems some of you weren't aware of it. If you've missed it, I self-published a small book with the story I created over this past October. It's called Hop! and it's the story of two crows walking around Montréal. I only have a few copies left, so if you want it, make sure to get it now! It's at the top of the page of my store. Here's a link: https://store...

We're finally packing "HOP!" for shipping! It's been a long process and big learning experience. Thank you for your patience! I'm including a special print just for patreon supporters who have ordered the book 😁

Hey! I'm very honoured to announce that False Knees won Best Webcomic 2021 by comics website Broken Frontier! False Knees 10 Year Anniversary

As of this month, I've been making comics for 10 years! To mark the occasion, I've gone digging back in the FK archives to share a small collection with you.

The one that started it all. It's got vomit and crude language–off to a great start! That hatching on the cat looks familiar though.
