Knock on wood

Ok, so the last time i said "things are looking up" my dad did one of those angry "I'm not an invalid! i can go walk outside if i want!" and promptly took a shitter down the hill and made things worse... which pretty much lead to this taking a lot longer than i'd hoped.

however

Things are looking up "knock knock" knock on wood hehe. He's able to walk around with a cane, mostly unassisted and doesn't spend 24 hours a day cry and whining that he's dying, he only spends like 8 hours ...

...sigh

Ok so another month another pause, this has turned into quite the hiatus hasn't it?

I'd like to say my dad's bravely fighting and we're all trying to get through this, but what makes this difficult is he's not fighting... at all! All day i have to listen to "I'm done! Just let me die" and shit like that, and its become very... very...fucking tiring...

So every day it seems like i'm fighting the same fight, just to get 0 result and end up back at the same spot the next day, and its...

Life..uh... uh... finds a way... to delay you...

Ya so as some know who i talk to in PM's, after I got my dad back from the rehab center, he needed to be on oxygen and was not able to do almost anything for himself. He would wake up in the middle of the night and need the oxygen recycler turned on, for a few weeks i got very poor sleep, and of course this is still sort of on the recovery from covid too, that shit knocked me out

New doctors, old doctors, appointments and visiting nurses and shit, its been a whole lot of not fun. So sad...

Ok, so i'm trying to figure out how to pose and work cameras and lights n such in Blender and goddamn is there a lot more to it than SFM. I see now what that guy said in comments a while back (sorry don't feel like scrolling back to remember your name hehe) that it takes 4x longer to learn blender than SFM and man that seems to be pretty true, there is so much to this shit. And a lot of stuff i can't exactly find tutorials on youtube... if you know what i mean...

So here is what i'm gon...

Lernin Update

Ok, so I wanted to keep yall updated on what i'm doing. In the next week or two i'm going to start the real part of my blender learning and practice and will begin to attempt to pose scenes and actually start making Blender content now that i've gotten sort of the basics down with the tutorials i've gone through. Don't expect animations anytime soon heh, but as said I'll try to progress into comics and this will be the first step to doing that, so hopefully all goes well ;)

Comic update

Ok so i just wanted to say briefly that i had planned to posting the comic like 3 days ago, but after 2 days of doctors appointments (nothing major, except for a late doctor... and 2 appointments on the same day at around the same time in different cites and both parents unable to drive there...) and then the next day i lost power for a day and half cuz a dumptruck doing construction tore out a support cable and knocked down a telephone pole across the street.... i've had an annoying few days...

Ok so I may have gotten slightly carried away with comic pages, after lack of being able to put too much story into the animations i'm putting a lot of text dialogue n such in these and i think i'm up to like... 75 pages? hehe

It has def served as nice brain cooling for after i overload the ole noggin with Blender stuff, which is still going well.

The two versions of the comic are gonna come apart a bit as i ended up changing the scenario a bit between them. But hopefully i'll put...

Ok so the comic itself is almost done save for all the dialogue boxes, which i'm unsure if i wanna do what i did before, or go for the more "comic-y" speech bubble things... hehe

More importantly the lernin is going well, the curve is def steep and its still hard not going back to SFM habits. Though i have learned a few things like resizing models that is just...... omfg...... so much easier in blender... there's like a bloody HOTKEY for it... and i don't have to worry about breaking th...

Update on stuff

Ok so I've been devoting a good amount of time to Blendah, and started to sort of map out and plan all the comic pages for the Horror High comic i'm working on in between. Progress is going steady on both ends, I've been still a bit busier than i wanted to be with other stuff but its progressing well and i should have some comic panels to spoil in a couple days and hopefully maybe some real early Blender stuff not to far after.

I def don't want to rush anything, but hopefully I'll have ...

Ok so that's voted, I'll admit in being a little surprised to the delivery method that more people voted for "all at once" than gradual, but in the end that really didn't matter to me how I did it, so that's fine ;)

Ok Animation portion DONE

Finally getting back on track here, I won't bore you with more hospitol stuff as more happened as a result of Covid they found, other things, but that turned out ok compared to Covid, so I've had time to redo some scenes, needed to just start over with 1 that wasn't working.

But as of right now that animation itself is finished, now time to move on to my favorite part! the sound and effects n such.... yay! hehe

Getting back on track

Ok, so sorry again about the long delay, as of right now mom is walkin around well, she's getting back to doing some of the things she was able to do before. This whole thing took a lot out of her and the followup visit we had recently the doctor said overall she is lucky to be alive.

As of a couple days ago i've actually been able to start doing some work, i fixed up a few scenes and re rendered them, i'm replacing a scene that just didn't work. I spent the last 2 days rendering fixed ...

Good, but still tired, update

Ok so things are starting to look up, i'm still quite busy but mom is starting to look a lot better, being able to do things on her own again slowly. The last couple days she hasn't required as much direct babysitting and even though i still have to do like 90% of the stuff, i have less worry that i'm gonna walk into her room and find her in worse condition or just gone

So i'm starting to spend a little time trying to get back to finishing my animation, though i started it all up today ...

tired update

So i just wanted to update quickly, its been a fairly exhausting week and i'm at the moment just returning from my 3rd trip to the ER in the time since my last post. Mom is still hanging in there but she's pretty rough right now.

I've spent the entire week either going back and forth from the hospital, the pharmacy, or the supermarket; been making calls to ask about advice and symptoms and such, or waiting on call backs about those calls, or cooking/cleaning etc.

Ok so I finished with the actual animation finally, but for some unknown reason the rendering is taking way longer than usual, so i guesstimate that complete rendering of the animation should take 4-5 days based on how long a single clip rendered today took... which all in all i suppose it a good thing cuuuuz....

My mom tested positive on the home tests for Covid this morning... like can i get a break here? heh, so i'll be playing mom watch for the next week, at least conveniently when ...

Hey so I just wanted to pop in with an update, i've been trying to progress and get this thing done but ran into a few delays, not the least of which is i hurt by back at work, nothing serious really just a sprain, but sitting at my computer chair for extended periods of time hurts and lying down is the only thing that doesn't so i've been kinda not getting the work in that i wanted.

That being said i'm still doing as much as i'm able and shouldn't take that much longer to finish the an...

Animation update

Ok the animation itself is done, gotta do some more rendering and then a few days for sound and editing and such but the next post "should" be the release post, and that should def be this coming week

Its also going to be clocking in at around 7minutes or so, more or less i'm not sure until after editing but prob going to be around that long hehe, so stay tuned and see ya then ;)

Almost done

Ok so i've got the last scene almost done, a little more to finish, a couple days of rendering and then i'll be able to start on sound and such, which is always the final (and most fun...yay) hurdle to get over for the animations so it shouldn't be long now, stay tuned ;)

Final WIP

Ok so as the title says this should be my final WIP preview image, everything else i'll be not showing just to keep some of it not spoiled or anything hehe, but this is what i'm working on right now and so far i like the idea ;)

Quick update

ok so i was supposed to have a new preview image today but i had an issue with a previous scene and ending up rendering all day, blech, but i'm getting close to done now. I'm getting into the final stages i think soon and it shouldn't be much longer overall

I should have another update tomorrow with a final preview image and then from there like i said, should be getting close. So stick with me here, more to come ;)

Liara and Miranda update

Ok so I've been working on the animation as much as possible, actually spent quite a bit of time since last post rendering all the stuff i've done so i wouldn't have to take like a week to do it at the end, had to touch up and redo a few scenes but overall happy with how they are coming out.

This scene is supposed to be sort of reminiscent of the old Liara animation i did a long time ago hehe Got a few AV scenes working with here to show up Liara's nice butt and c'mon, who doesn't wanna...

Ada's Residents promo poster?

Ok a promo poster of sorts, i stared at it for a while trying to figure out if i should add like a bunch of effects or something but figured i would just stick with simple.

I did try to recreate a classic Ada pose i've seen quite a bit, adding a pair of "helpers" also keeping an eye out for danger hehe, gotta look for em they're almost hard to see! 

I won't be focusing on this cuz i'm focusing on Liara/Miranda, which is going well, but i do need breaks from the same thing so ...

Ok so Liara/Miranda still going, I feel like i'm about halfway done, and i think its going pretty good. I should be able to post some new WIP for it soon.

I also for tomorrow should have like a poster proof of concept sort of for the short Resident Evil comic i was talking about with Ada and tiny claire/jill and that should be fun and i should be able to post several images in sequence for constant updates on those.
