I got 'em sketched on paper, but didn't clean 'em up until today.

Pre-Fan Art Project Warmup

Got some practice today by doing some paper sketches based on old animal sets and refining them digitally.
I've downloaded all the reference I need, and I'm excited to get started on the Zootopia stuff tomorrow!

I haven't been making stuff to post here, and I kinda hate myself for it. Here are a couple doodle sheets I did though.

THIS COMING WEEK, my plan is to take a bunch of the animals from the new Zootopia 2 Trailer and draw them in my style. That will be my main focus.

Hello patrons!

First, thank you all very much for sticking around, even though I haven't been posting much lately due to my work on commissions. I tried to pace myself, so I could do both commissions and Patreon work, but that kinda failed. Hopefully I do better next time :P

Commissions Round 2!

I'm offering commissions again starting tomorrow!
Gonna take what I learned last weak, and adjust my approach a little:
- I transferred two slots from full-body sketch comms to full-body color comms since people seemed WAY more interested in full-body color comms based on how quickly the slots filled up.

May 7th Update

Since I took some commissions this week, I haven't been able to work on much for Patreon.
Tomorrow, I'll finish the last commission, and then try to make a couple things.
In the future, I want to get into the habit of working on a few commissions in the morning, and then doing Patreon projects in the afternoon/evening, so there's a nice balance between the two, and I don't get tired out by commissions.

"Burrito Grief" comic finished!

It takes a few minutes, but Slick decides someone else could use a burrito more than he could :)
I wasn't sure if I'd get this done, but I built up some momentum, and powered through!
Not bad for one of my first true attempts at a comic!

I know I normally do these last, but they're some of the easiest to come up with, so I went ahead and got them out of the way first.
I wonder if I might give myself a little more freedom with the colors of the robots like this. Not totally sure yet, just testing things out to see how they look.

Rayman 2 Fan Art Thumbnails

I had an idea for a scene from Rayman 2 that I could draw, so I made these thumbnails to decide how I might compose the layout of it ^^

Thumbnailing helps a LOT!

And yeah, like I've mentioned a couple times before, quick and messy sketches like these are SO much easier to flesh out and turn into finished comics than if I tried to begin a finished product directly from my head.
I hope to work on each of these very soon :)

Design/Branding Practice

This week I've been asking myself, "If I made posters, book covers, advertisements, stickers, etc., how would I give them a visual aesthetic that fits nicely with the rest of my work?"

Sorry I've been slacking a bit on my Icy/Snowy themed concept art. This has been a pretty busy week for me, and I needed to focus on some personal development things more than drawing. I'll do the rest of the Icy/Snowy stuff soon.

1. A funny expression from Slick
2. An example of my process - I don't usually start with a super messy doodle like this, but I think I should do it more often, especially for things like comics.
It's like they say, "first make it, then make it good."
A doodle is a lot easier to refine and work with than just an idea in my head :P

Today was a weird day that threw me off my usual schedule, so I didn't get my usual character concepts done.
