Update and Super Secret Pages!

Hi, y’all!

January was full of me doing cool comics work for different projects, and so I didn’t manage my time to post as much as I wanted! I know I said the BODY. DOUBLE. Deluxe Edition would be out by February, but it is going to have to wait a little longer, as two of my friends who were doing illustrations for it were impacted by the LA wildfires! Because of this, I pushed the release back a bit, but I still hope to put it out sooner than later!

These pages were effectively ones that I already was able to plan (unlike the previous three), because it’s easier for me when you know what the climax is to try to actually, like, build to that. But also… I feel like, because of how I was trying to work with page turns here, I feel like this is the one biggest spots in the whole comic where I didn’t properly pace it correctly, giving too much space to some parts, and not enough space to others.

Ah, the lovely Ingrid! She is my most recent OC, but already one of my favorites. What is so funny is how people just don’t seem to recognize she is just me as a 22-year-old cis girl with bangs and a tongue and eyebrow ring lmaoooo. Also if I were cool. Hahaha.

These three pages are likely my favorites in the entire book, but they were also some of the hardest to figure out - I knew what I wanted to effectively HAPPEN on each page, but I didn’t know how to lay it out and make it work! I did not manage to do layouts for any of these pages, and had to figure them out very ON THE PAGE, because sometimes that’s what best spurns my creativity.

Anaïs: Who She Is And How She Came To Be

Anaïs was… she was just a cute girl. Just a cute girl in a club, approached by vampires, and then taken back to their place and turned into one during a threesome. That is not who she is anymore, but developing a character with this look - this 1960’s Chantal Goya look - really spurned something within me!

Discussion of Full Digital Workflow

So about a month and a half ago I finally got an iPad, and it has changed the output of my art greatly (like, I actually make art now!). Previously, I would pencil and ink my drawings traditionally, mostly on 8.5x11 card stock or printer paper (my scanner is the same size, and so that makes me only want to draw in that size lol), and then I would scan them and color them on my laptop in Clip Studio using my Wacom tablet.
