Trying to get the Box Art for the Party Fowl game done before TCAF next week. I'll be driving up on thursday and takeing wednesday off just to RELAX and ENJOY MYSELF and maybe even catch up on what those avengers are up to. Take it from me, getting high and catching a midday flick owns.

A Serious Time to Panic (hiagb)

Here's thursday's comic. These are a lot per page, something I put upon myself to make up for how when I first started I did like 2 pages at a time. Now it's like cramming two pages into one. 4 pages a week. But not really. Just another self imposed thing on myself I don't know to back out of without loudly announcing I'm backing out of it. I'm too aware of it all. I think I'm sherlock holmes, but im just an idiot with heartburn.

Working over the weekend and this week's good boys are good to go. Trying to work ahead in anticipation of TCAF in two weeks and eventually more traveling in the summer (and a possible office move). Every time I think about getting ahead I remember that it is going to end and I might be able to at least finish it before all that (not before tcaf, yikes).

digital pencils, but i hope you still Get the Gist. Think of the first emerson's head as a crunchy husk that doesnt seem to crumble apart, which will make panel 9 a fun one to ink (digitally).

The First Emerson (hiagb)

I realized while coloring this strip that I'm actually close to one of the big reveals of the comic I had planned. Like, next coupla pages maybe. Most of the groundwork I had alluded to early on is showing fruit! I hope! I've thought a lot about this comic before I started even drawing it and made sure I had the big, but blurry, picture thought out. Then the small stuff helped clear it up! Wow writing. Creativeity. Who'da thought!

In the past couple of years, I've begun leaning more into the sweatyness of on-the-nose jokes like this and some others thru-out hiagb. mostly due to realizing that is just how my brain works. it collects and regurgitates what it's already seen and it's gonna look like a lot of other things. I'd rather own up to it than try to hide from it or get embarrassed when someone says it looks like something else, which is true but feels sometimes like it's an attack on my work (it's not!).

in an attempt to divert my frustration at drawing, i jumped into self-indulgence and drew them boys for the next Thing i'd like to do (titled "a sinner's prayer"). I'm trying not to just lean into only thinking and day-dreaming about this project before I finish what's already in front of me (hiagb, pinocchio, etc) but I guess I needed a pick-me-up.

oh damn it's hapoening. ya boy anthony colored my pages for invader zim #31 and im putting a final spit shine on 'em and it's coming together. I hope kids/people/anyone likes this. i keep forgetting that kids probably read this and im sitting here expecting chris ware to call me personally and go "of course i love invader zim and i love you" and im all "thank you chris ware." trying to impress all the wrong people in my head. but anyway this is turning out awesome.

faces

for a simple color block puzzle game, i was commissioned to do several faces reacting being covered in "paint" from all sides (you play as a cube). seemed like a no-brainer to me to take this on.

the game is still currently in production. I'll hog on about it on twitter once it's out, I'm sure.
