Maps Monday - Castle DiHojan - Fishing House

Gaining entry to Castle DiHojan is extremely difficult-- unless you were invited first. For those who wish to gain entry they must have powerful backing, enough funds to buy their way inside, or a sympathetic ear. If the group can find a way to gain one of these three they will be put into the local Fishing House just outside the walls while their application for entry is processed.

Maps Monday - Castle DiHojan

On the Western coast of Southlund, is the Fortress City of Castle DiHojan. A self sustaining city, Castle DiHojan acts as a major trade hub for those they are willing to trade with and has only increased its position since the fall of every port town to its South. Unwilling to bend to the whims of anyone else, Duke Lanner DiHojan runs the town with a literal tier. Those on the lower tiers of the city support those on the higher tiers. It may be an imperfect model, but some choose safety over ...

Pine Rift - Bluebell Mansion - Basement

There are things that the Bluebell family try to hide, things that might threaten their drive for power. This is where those things go to be silenced... locked in the basement, there are nightmares down here waiting to prevent anyone from reaching. There was worship here once to the light gods-- but now, there is only one whom they serve.

Pine Rift - Bluebell Mansion

Regal and opulent are just how you would start to describe the Bluebell, as vial as they may be after it all. They strive for nothing less than perfection and seek it in all the things they do, even if that means ruining lives to get there. Any opposition to a Bluebell is merely an obstacle waiting to be removed. What secrets does their home hold though?

Maps Monday - Darkwoods Campgrounds

After journeying for such a long period of time, it's important to slow down and appreciate nature. Then find a "safe" place to camp for the night. It's a good thing that there are people on watch for this one... because something is certainly lurking.

Maps Monday - Path to Pine Rift

On the Southern path towards Pine Rift, things are wrought with danger. Even the plants seem to grow out, ready to strangle the path had they not been pushed back back from usage. Though-- there is something odd here. Fungus that does not seem to be native to this climate, growing so close, almost as if-- it's waiting...

Maps Monday - Beyond Garnet Thax

At the opposite end of the Garnet Mountains is the sister city to Spar, Kayolin. Unlike Spar, Kayolin is not open to outsiders considering that they are dealing with a crisis. Just beyond the foothills to the Garnet Mountains is a crossroads going to the cities of Lemish and Pinerift which both have allegiances to the dragonarmies. Due to this, the Dwarves of Kayolin have put their full might to stopping these armies from encroaching upon the mountain pass. Information is key-- though the Dar...

Maps Friday (Late) - Beholder Lair - Titan Room

Trapped deep beneath Garnet Thax, beyond the lair the Beholder created, is a room where the Dawn Titan, Draunn still resides. After having a mountain dropped upon its body, the gods trapped Draunn in stasis to leave him trapped for eternity. The Dwarves would one day discover the room however, feeling the immense power of Draunn, they made the decision to seal the room and abandon Garnet Thax. In order to protect this place however, the Beholder was summoned to prevent anyone from reaching th...

Maps Monday - Beholder Lair

Finally the group has entered the Beholder's lair! The ground is covered in a layer of ice, creating difficult terrain for any creature unable to fly. Four holes delve sixty feet into the ground in the four corners, acting as escape route for the Beholder. The ceiling here is sixty feet off the ground, with two massive turrets built into the ceiling, descending down thirty feet with small arrowslits along them. Directly beneath the turrets which open towards the ground, are either a pool of a...

Sunday Surplus - Hobgoblin Memories

Here's a special Sunday Surplus map! One that is needed for the story set forth in the maps but is a throwback to a previous map. After surviving the nightmares set forth by the Beholder, players get a chance to push back inside the Beholder's lair. Well, less of a chance and more they cannot control their escape. The room however looks different--

Traveling along the path, the group found themselves moving through a familiar tunnel but noticed a glowing blue light emanating from the ro...

Maps Monday - Beholder Lair Escape?

There's no hope in facing a Beholder, the only option is to run. Except-- the party is in the Beholder's lair. Everything here is bent to the whim of the beholder, no matter which way you run, where you end up is at its command. Head North? You're back in the Goblin camp, head West? Back to the Hobgoblin camp! Worst of all-- a dead end. The Beholder can appear here, threatening the lives of all those who stay here as they are given false hope. A exit appears, back to the Ogre Camp, through th...

Maps Monday - Hobgoblin Camp

One of the goblins got away, so how knows what it warned up ahead. It was unavoidable anyway. Nothing has been too alarming yet. Looks like a bit more organized of a camp, must be something with some intelligence. Wait... what's that in the corner? An ambush? They're not very stealthy. That'll be to your advantage, you don't want to wander into a Hobgoblin ambush. Even the hobgoblin won't put up much a fight, but they keep trying to move towards the back stairs, not to run but to block your p...

Maps Monday - Goblin Camp

There's only one way to go and things are starting to feel even more eerie. It feels like something is watching and in every room there are massive holes in the ceiling. This room is silent though-- there are clearly tiny beds laid in the alcoves but there's nothing inside. Just... rocks? Wait, are they just rocks. No-- no, it's an ambush! The rocks are fake, there's something inside!

Maps Monday - Ogre Camp

Entering into the cave system where the Hill Giant's path lead, it winds in the dark for a distance before finally the glow of lights and low grunting echoes ahead. If you've been quiet, there is a chance you have caught a group of Ogre unawares. Here they have setup a camp in a sentry point to keep watch over what comes and goes from the cave system. The next question-- what happens if you go deeper?

Monster Fridays - Green Ooze

Why is everything coat in a thin layer of slime here? The entrance is unguarded though which means that getting into the giants lair might be easier than expected! Still- something doesn't settle right here. Why does some of that slime make a noise like it's trying to move? Wait-- are they oozing together to form a... what!

Maps Monday - Garnet Thax Entrance

The full moon seems to hang over this place, almost as if directing creatures towards this entrance. Bereft of signs of the Hill Giants, there is a large opening ahead that seems to lead into the depths of Garnet Thax. The former city lies to the West, collapsed to the point where entry is no longer safe, so the Hill Giants footprints can be tracked to this location. What lays inside? What monstrosities linger here... and what nightmares could've produced everything they have seen so far?

Monster Fridays - Alpine Hill Giant

A terrifying Hill Giant which stands a few feet taller than a standard Hill Giant. It seems to be far stronger based on the musculature of the body. Wielding massive tree trunks like a great club, this is one swing you do not want to get to receive. What's worse, it possesses far better combat knowledge than a standard giant as well, able to use more abilities than they have in the past! Killing them quickly and sneaking through is of highest priority.

The crows however-- they're always watching and the doll has not stopped singing! Still, this is a mission, all that's left is to climb the stairs. A statue stands guard on one side but discarded armor lays where a second statue should reside. Perhaps it's something useful? Or another trap...

Monster Fridays - Mukbrog, Hill Giant Chieftan

What is that horrid smell... the scent of death washes over the party as they enter the tent, beholding the terrible scene to follow the sounds they heard. A humanoid leg slurped between the lips of a monstrous looking giant, far more than a typical Hill Giant. Intelligent enough for speech, Mukbrog welcomes his next course as an incredible fight takes place. When it seems the day is won however, Mukbrog's Fire Giant heritage takes grip as the fight continues to an explosive end.

Monster Fridays - Likfanger

Hill Giants raising creatures seems like an odd behavior, so clearly there is something driving them more than their usual animalistic tendencies. Vultures were bad enough but these... Likfanger, they're even more vile. Feeding off Hill Giants remains means being far stronger, adapting to the Hill Giant stench, and finding even more terrifying ways to pick off the leftovers the giants may leave behind.
