Hola folks. I don't have a whole lot for you this month, but here's what I do have. 

Let's start off with the next step in the otter character sheet for Stardust. I took the liberty of putting some ink n it after making the requested changes. let me know if this works. 

Welcome to the lobby

Hey, all... here's a quick Zero Day update: a peek at the entrance Lobby of the Nanti Strides, the starship that you, the player, will travel on to Boink. 

This is another Blender render, and believe it or don't, this is straight out of the render rip with no retouching. 3D scenery with character art on flat transparent planes in the scene. It was an experiment, and I think it worked. I will likely do more of this. 

Also, while the shading and toning on Cobalt is painted...

I took some liberties with it, but I believe I got the only two details that are required (technically) correct.

Trouble On Wheels

Next up, for rnixon, it's a followup to a piece I did for him a number of years ago. Luckily, I still had the bike sitting in storage, so it was just a matter of getting Cleo to pose on it.

Upcoming Time Off

Hey all.... as you know, I usually take a month off, every six months. Usually that's December and June. 

Well, this year, I am going to be spending a chunk of May in California, visiting relatives. So I've decided I'm going to take May and June off, if there's no objections. May, because I will be out of town, and June because after coming back I'm probably going to need a while to unwind. 

Hope that's okay with you all. 

There It Is

One of the other benefits of not having to retouch images, is that once I have a look I like, I can kitbash it to make other things. These hallways were basically built by taking pieces of the room model and reworking them. 

Anyway, there's a peek at some of what I've been upto. 

I am getting the hang of Blender, at least as far as modeling goes. I have yet to tackle sculpting, rigging or any of the really heavy stuff. 

But I'm on my way.

Cabin 416

And for my third model, here's the cabin on the starship that cobalt, twinkle and the player are booked into for the flight to Boink. 

This room went through so many designs and redesigns before I finally got something with the right feel to it. But one of the benefits of working in Blender - specifically in the Eevee rendering engine - is that I can work out the look in real-time, without having to mask, composite and retouch over and over for each image.

The Bare Cave (in progress)

Welcome to The Bare Cave, the underground home of cobalt's parents, Indigo and Silver, and Spice the Foozle, on planet Boink. 

Yeah, bit of a leap from a single vending machine to this, but this is my second model. I watched a ton of youtube tutorials on what I now know to be called NPR rendering. (non-photo-real), and decided to put those skills to use by starting on on some of the location backgrounds for Zero Day.

Aloha all, as I may have mentioned, I made a new year's resolution this time around, which was that I would finally make myself learn Blender. I've chronicled elsewhere what an uphill battle I've had with the program over the years, and how its life expectancy on my hard drive could be measured in minutes.

Genie With A Light Brown Hare

I posted this to the discord earlier, so I might as well put it here, too. This is the pencil sketch for one of those two delinquent paid commissions. It's for Doodles, over on FA. 

I need to get ink and coor on this before it's ready to be posted publicly, but for now here's the sketch for you to enjoy.

Rough Front Layout

...and finally, because I am once again two images short, here is the initial sketch for a multi-part project I have taken on for Stardust... a model sheet for a character. This is the rough sketch of the front layout. 

As for those tow missing images, Ill once again try to get them done soonish. February is always a bad month for getting caught up because it's missing two whole days. 

I probably shoud have thought about that before putting time into trying to finish up ...

This image is a minor victory for me, as well - the rez table was built and rendered entirely in blender. 

I have decided to name the bear Cocoa. You may recognize him from an earlier appearance on a certain recruitment poster.

Zero Day outline

Hey all... I've done a little more tweaking and tightening to the story outline for Zero Day. I figured I'd share what I have with you guys so far. 

The story takes place over a week, wth Day 1 being the prologue, and setup (and which will also form the public demo) and Day 7 being Zero Day itself, and forming the epilogue to the tale. 

The week breaks down like this:

Day 1) Meet Cobalt and Twinkle at the Skypad, and travel with them on a luxury spaceliner, heading...

Hola peeps. December is over, and I'm back grinding away in the art mines. I've received the requests for this month and have them all lined up ready to begin working on them. That includes the now very late final picture from November, which I ended up leaving aside until the holidays were over. 

I needed the break. I barely did anything on Zero Day either. Mostly planning stuff that mostly involved downloading reference and idea photos from the google for later use.
