Ralis (character design)

A quick sneak peek of Sidon and Mipha’s baby brother. I’d like for ya’ll to meet young Ralis the 4th! Named after the great king of long past, Ralis is the youngest of the royal Zora family. Ralis is outgoing and very friendly but a bit of a scamp: sometimes he forgets his manners and is unintentionally rude. But he’d never hurt a fly and is a sensitive fella; basically a puppy but as a fish monster. He loves his family but is closest to Sidon and Mipha: if he were ever u...

June Rewards

All of the rewards I had to complete for the month of June! It took me a little while to figure out how to post them all at once and I figured a huge scroll of a post would work, but maybe next time I'll just post them in separate batches. o3o At any rate, thank you all so much for your support and your patience, and be sure to keep a look out for the next reward month, which is August! <:

Urbosa sneak peek

Just a quick sneak peek of sorts to show off who will be next for some headcanoning! Urbosa's headcanon is tied with Ganondorf's, so expect some stuff about their dynamic as well as her role as acting chief of the Gerudo! <:

Linkle discovers something about herself

I was thinkin' on what to do to showcase more character interaction and figured rough short comic strips/storyboards was the way to go. This one was focused on Mipha and Linkle, in which Linkle finds out she has a kink.  ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I thought it was funny so, here it is! o3o

Old Hyrule bridge: color study

So I feel really rusty when it comes to BGs and, because I really wanna do some pseudo concept art for my LoZ headcanons (now titled LoZ: New Mythos) and just more BG work in general, I figured color studies would be one good way to slowly get back into the swing of it. This color test thingy is for an idea I had for the bridge connecting to the entrance of Old Hyrule: the land that Link traversed in BotW. It's been cut off and segmented away from the rest of the world by both sea an...

LoZ: Fairies

Finally finished the designs for the fairies! I actually had more generic designs to serve as examples for the different types of fairies, but after I uploaded Navi a lot of folks asked for designs of Ciela, Tatl, and Tael. SO! Here they are, serving as representatives of their respective type of fairy!

-Fairies are creatures that are created by the Great Fairies themselves. No fairy is ever naturally born nor are they equipped to reproduce, and so Fairies, by nature, are s...

June Rewards Update!

I finished more than half of the rewards I had listed, but I had to end the stream early today because I'm basically running on fumes right now.

To make up for that I'll be working on the remainder of the rewards throughout the week! For those of you who I haven't gotten to yet, you can expect your reward to be completed either before next Sunday stream (where I'll just work on yours off-stream) or during if you'd rather watch it be made, no problem. But everything will be comp...

Guardian Dragons (P1)

FINALLY finished the redesigns of the Guardian Dragons for my LoZ headcanon!  I tried to keep them within the styling of Skyward Sword's original designs of them with my take on them.  Really happy how they all came out, especially Saria's since I had to design her from scratch. <:

The actual headcanon part will be added to the post that has their "mortal forms" on them, which will be coming soon! ^.^

Pen-10-Min Commissions

The final result of all of the Pen-10-Min sketch commissions I had. I had such a fun time working on these! I also think they're giving me the added benefit of refining my sketching method so I can speed up my overall work flow, so that's also exciting. <: To those who commissioned me, huge thank you for your support! uwu

New patron goal suggestions?

Heyo! Sorry for the bombardment of posts ya'll, but you've been such a big help and I was hoping I could ask for it again? This time it's regarding the upcoming patron post goal.

I'm a bit at a loss as to what I can offer as a goal so I was wondering if ya'll had any suggestions? A few I had in the past included live critique/advice sessions, Movie-night Mondays (where I play a movie while streaming me work on content), or maybe get back into animation by doing a rough 5-10 second anima...

Saturday Short Tips: Silhouette

-The most important aspect of any character design is their Silhouette. The Silhouette of the character is such a staple because a character that’s recognizable without the detail is a character that is easily recognizable from far away or in a crowd setting on screen.

-Clarity is key in a silhouette. If the silhouette doesn't read, then it's likely the design is weak.

-Silhouette relies on the understanding of Shape Language, because i...

Equestrian Mythos: WIP

A huge print I plan on working on to debut at Bronycon this year. I wanted to do something of a small-ish tribute to MLP and it's nearing finale: I may not watch the show anymore or draw MLP much now, but it still gave me some of the most fun I've ever had while in a fandom. It helped me with my improvement in art, helped give me confidence to present my ideas and the stories I wanted to tell and though I'm moving on from it, I still adore the characters and appreciate the show for the joy it...

PO: Oron Concept

He's done! The owl god for my video game project has been fully designed and ready to go. I ultimately went with the much brighter, almost neon colors for him to both contrast Surya (my sun god design) and to make his personality.

Oron is the God of the Moon and Knowledge. He's very intelligent and wise, but he's a jolly guy at heart: very eccentric and kooky... maybe a little crazy even. But he's a kind soul and a great mentor.

I'm extremely proud of his design; the...

Saturday Short Tips: Shape Language

-One of the biggest foundations in anything art/design related comes in the form of simplistic shapes. Simple shapes are used so universally because they're clear and easy to understand.

-When designing a character, shape language is important. Shape language is using shapes to give the viewer information without words. The most familiar of shapes have meanings to them that's generally universal and understood by the audience on an instinctual level, and in cha...

Best Pony! series: Mane 6

Awwwwwwww yiss, I've finished the first batch of Best Pony buttons for 2019's convention season! These will be featured at all of the conventions I'll be attending this year, so keep an eye out for 'em!

I had a lot of fun working with these: I tried to incorporate as much personality into them as I could and gave the girls a pair of sunglasses and expression I thought best fit them. There will be more for sure on the way, but for Everfree I wanted to at least have the Mane 6 done....

PO: Moon god roughs

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaalrighty! Sun Goddess Surya is done, now up next is the moon god, Oron!

Oron is the god of the Moon with his main attribute being knowledge. He is very intelligent and wise, one of the oldest gods of their world. For all of his wisdom though, Oron isn't one to give answers straight away: he is eccentric, a bit daydreamy, kooky, and very passionate about his craft. He rules over the Moon Realm,  where their affinity lies in artistic pursuits: poetry, painting, sculpting...

Twily test

Whenever I need to test something out for MLP stuff, Twi's usually my go-to test character. And here she is again! <:

Wanted to try out some new Photoshop brushes to see if I could recreate a watercolor look. The colors are much richer than they would be if don't traditionally but I like the result! I'm thinking of doing a mini series of the ponies in this style for this year's conventions. O:

PO: Surya concept

Finally, the lioness god is finished! Decided to go with warm, earthier tones for her despite her being a sun god because of her overall personality: she pragmatic, practical, and level headed. She has the capacity to be as intense as her sun, but overall she's more often gentle.

Not only the God of the Sun and Fire, Surya is the goddess of Metalsmithing, and she often carries around her large hammer as seen above.

I'm extremely proud and pleased with her design, and once again I ...

PO: Lioness costumes 2

Okie dokie, so it was a tossup between 3, 4, and 6 so I've opted to mix together in varying degrees for the final costume verdict.

I've said it in the last post but since then I've come to the decision that every god represents the main thing their realm is responsible for. Surya's realm is responsible for the crafting and trading of the world, meaning they a largely craftsmen and merchants. Surya would reflect that as a whole: she's not only the Sun Goddess, she is the goddess of Metal...

PO: Lioness costume roughs

The overall shape design of Surya has been chosen (it was #3 from the last post) so now it's time to move on to her outfit!

In their world, clothing is entirely optional and generally used as a for things like self-expression, a symbol of their profession, or of status. The Divine almost always wear some sort of garb though it isn't always in the form of clothes: copious amounts of jewelry, sashes, ropes, and metal regalia are used. They're usually related to the attributes the Divine i...

Project Oasis: Sun Goddess concept roughs

ALRIGHTY! Now marks the start of the second design of the portfolio: the Sun Goddess herself! In the game, she was the one who was eventually defeated by her nemesis. Once weakened, the enemy took the Sun and shattered it before sending the fragments all across the world, rendering her effectively powerless. Without the warmth of her sun, the world is cast into a winter that threatens to last all of eternity.

Personality wise, the Sun Goddess is the very picture of a leader: she is prag...

Project Oasis: PC final design

After all of the experimentation and edits, we've finally come to the final design of the player character! Here they be!

Design 5 from the previous post was by far the more popular, but Design 3 is the one that won out for me. It wasn't even my first choice; I was actually gonna go with 5, but after reading some of the comments and the reasoning behind why some folks chose this one, as well as my own want for a design that was eye-catching but still relatively simple, this one ended up...

Project Oasis: Color variation (Final)

OKAY. So I finally narrowed it down to this specific color palette, but now I'm stuck on which design of both the fur coat and of the character's markings. I'm highly considering making the markings glow when power is in use, hence the use of a gif to illustrate what it looks like with and without the glow. I figured seeing it on and off would give a better view as how the design works overall.

So for the player character... which of the designs do ya'll think works best? My ey...

Project Oasis: color variations 2

So I realized my last batch of color variations didn't quite follow the ideas I had for the player character, so this is a second toss up. The basic idea behind the world this character resides in is that it was completely frozen over in an Eternal Winter due to the sun being shattered.

As the hero of the game, the character should probably represent bringing warmth to the realms they travel to in order to end the freeze. Hell, one of my ideas for how the game starts is you as the PC is...

Project Oasis: Color variations

The majority of ya chose the design I was veering toward so, that's the one we're gonna go with! I'll worry about style-ization and stuff later, but first... colors!

As a reminder, the character has no definite gender or personality. The biggest characteristics of the character is:

-They're the one specifically chosen to free the Divine

-They are brave and determined

-They are from the Sun realm (think deserts and arid locations)

I'm personally leaning toward 6 m...
