A doodle I did because I felt pretty happy, so I wanted to make something happy-lookin! Originally her hair was gonna be far more ocean-y but I liked the direction it took: she looks more like a pretty shell you'd find in the sand at the beach! <:

Spyro Reignited: hidden colors

So if you've ever played Spyro, there's cheat codes that let you change the little dragon's colors! It was in the original and it's in the Reignited trilogy now, which by the way is an AMAZING game!

The only issue I have with these colors, though, is that in the actual game itself they're... well. Flat. Spyro looks like he dove into a bucket of paint and walked around with that color stuck on him instead of actually altering the entirety of his palette. I understand why they'd go such a...

Bear character

New mascot/character! Wanted to make a character that could represent my artwork in a way, and since I LOVE bears I went with one. This one has a long tail because of the Ursa Major constellation: the star bears have long dog-like tails instead of the short stubby ones on a real bear.

Now I just need a name. I was gonna go with Bearsong but suggestions are welcome <:

The Lion Fairy (FTR): Farm Girl

Next up is the exploration of the yet-named farm girl of The Lion Fairy story! Unlike the Lioness who is a form of fantasy-esque royalty, the farm girl is exactly that: a farm girl. She lives with her mother so she can help take care of her and the family farm; the father's not in the picture. For her I wanted the base traits to be: hardworking, kind, approachable, commoner.

I wanted something that spoke of the Lioness' nature. Her base traits are: wild, strong, patient, regal, royal, and so I tried for a design that best bellied that. I reached the final result after several explorations I didn't actually show here, but you'll probably see it in depth when I work on the Farm Girl's design. C:

The several iterations I went through for the two main characters in The Lion Fairy's story, the first story in the Fairytale Retellings book. Silhouettes are a good way to explore the characters' shapes to find something unique and appealing without worrying so much about minute details in the beginning. The top row is of The Lioness, and the bottom row is of the farm girl. I ended up going with 2 for The Lioness and 6 for the farm girl because they compliment one another:

Fairytale Retellings Book

I completely forgot to post this much earlier but better late than never. I've officially begun work on my Fairytale Retelling book, in which there's gonna be about 10 fairytales retold in my vision, both story-wise and artstyle-wise. This is gonna be one of my larger undertakings but I think it'll make for a good learning tool, good portfolio stuff, and something I hope to be able to sell. It'll also give me more content to post to my patreon! :3

November UPDATE

Hello peeps! A lot has been on my mind so I figured it'd be good to give an update about it, especially since a bit of it has something to do with Patreon. c:

Okay so first off, I'll be taking a short break from the production of my film. It won't be a long one, probably about a week at most, but I have to get away from it for a little while so I can come back to it with fresh eyes. As such, updates on its WIP progress will be on hold until then!

URSA: Original score sample

The amazing sample I got from the equally amazing Jonathan Altenmüller, who was kind enough to volunteer his talent in lending my film its original musical score! This is just a sample to get a feel of how the music would sound in the film before he starts work on the full score, but this piece legit made me tear up because it's exactly what I want from my film.
