august acoustic guitar loops

hi,

I remember being requested some guitar loops so here they are, 11 simple and short and very raw acoustic guitar loops! 

samples were recorded with a stereo pair of small diaphragm condensers. 

inside each folder labeled with their loop name is a master loop and 4 individual tracks being the stems of the master. feel free to use all of the audio in any way you like!

unreleased piano music + MIDI file

I've been lucky to have the opportunity to write music for the rhythm game app Deemo, and this is one of the songs that sort of got rejected earlier in the process (thus is why I get to share the audio with yall)

I've also attached the main piano MIDI below so feel free to use it as learning material or even sample bits you like! 

Original time signature is 3/4 and has the bpm of 170 (slows down temporarily mid song)

how i write songs on the piano as a non-pianist

hi!

I've recently been trying to write music on the piano as it's a pain in the butt to have to program notes/velocities/etc. for a natural sounding piano. 

So here's a video on some tips and techniques on how I've recently been writing progressions/recording piano, as a person who has no prior experience on the piano.

wonky drum loops!

I was lucky enough to get access to a bunch of percussive instruments a while ago and thought I could make some cool samples, 

so here are some room-recorded, latin + other genre inspired percussion loops! 

the folder names are the dedicated bpm, and inside are 'raw' samples (mostly unprocessed) + 'dist' samples, which are distorted loops of the raw files (distorted with iZotope Trash 2)

violin jams 2 + granulated strings!

the long awaited (maybe?) violin jams 2 is here! 

the folder includes 6 self recorded, mostly unprocessed violin jams + 20 variations of the jams granularly processed (with ableton granulator, I'll make a video covering that soon!) 

violin jams 2 is a bit more focused on structure and composition compared to violin jams 1 (which was more of a random swarm of sounds), and so the file names have a 3 digit number, representing the bpm of each...

Dynamic EQing (sort of) in Ableton

Pro-Q's dynamic EQ is awesome - I use it everyday, but it's not exactly the most wallet-friendly plugin. 

So here's a way to approach dynamic EQing (sort of) using only stock Ableton devices without having to pay extra. 

Also the racks shown in the video are attached below, it might be easier to understand the setup by fiddling with it yourself.

MIDI Frequency LFO m4l device

hi!

my good friend hirihiri gave me the idea to whip up an LFO device that changes it's frequency correspondently to the incoming MIDI note frequency

 for example, if you play an A4 in MIDI, the LFO will oscillate at 440hz.

the little menu under 'Rel LFO Freq' changes the frequency of the oscillator:

'normal' plays the same frequency as the MIDI note frequency 

so if you play A4, the LFO will also oscillate at 440hz
