Here's the first of a few little videos I have made for our patrons only to celebrate last years adventures and start us off on our new year of excitement and sailing!  

Episode 126 - Fixing Our Yacht Engine In Venice and Enjoying the Lagoons!

We finally receive our part from England to fix our engine aboard Pickle! Sadly still waiting for our oil dip sticks to arrive (thats next week) but while we wait for those, we fix the engine and go out to anchor in the beautiful Venetian Lagoons. We have an enjoyable beach day, lots of fun and games and sadly have a couple of accidents!!! hope you enjoy this episode and join us next week as we prepare for our sail to Croatia!

Episode 125 - Very Special Tour of a Traditional Boat Builders in Venice!

This weeks episode is a bit different! We give you a little recap regarding our engines troubles in Venice, then we get the privilege to take you with us when we get a guided tour of a traditional Venetian Boat builders! We look at wooden boat building using traditional methods, and a boat which is being specially made for the Italian tall ship Amerigo Vespucci! Episode 124 - Exploring Venice after Engine Trouble!

Such a crazy week! After engine trouble, we end up in a Venetian boat yard, with lots of help, mechanics, British parts ordered, delayed and customs troubles we finally decide to give up and go and explore Venice for the weekend! Which is so much fun and totally a great way to forget all our worries for a little while! Come and join us as we get stuck in to this weeks madness!

Episode 123 - Sailing to Venice and Exploring Haunted Islands!

We do a night sail from Fano to Venice stopping for a cheeky swim on the way in those beautiful deep waters!  After a wonderful first night in the Venetian Lagoons we find ourselves touching down, whoops! So swiftly move onto a better anchorage off a haunted island, where we take you to explore! See you next week guys when we try to get our engine fix, that doesn't go well! and visit the fabulous Venice.

Episode 122 - Crazy swell at anchor! Dangerous marina entrances!

Sailing down the East coast of Italy we have found very little shelter from the wind and swell! Which is sometimes a problem if a big storms coming! so this week after a rolly few days at anchor and no shelter for hundreds of miles, we finally take shelter in a little marina in Fano, which actually turned out really nice! We did shopping, laundry, found the all important gas for cooking, checked out AND I actually managed to get a good nights sleep after a very long glorious walk in the rain!...

Episode 121 - Topless Swimming after a Disaster at Anchor in 45+knots of wind!

Please give me strength! I seriously think I need it this week! We stay in stunning anchorages, with impressive scenery and have the most amazing adventures! I feel totally blessed for my wonderful life and sometimes complete staggering isolation! But generally on a boat if you have a problem.... its a real PROBLEM, as you will see this episode as we try and retrieve our fouled anchor in big winds and swell!

Episode 120 - Skinny Dipping in Italy and a Run in with the Guardia, Twice!

Episode 119 - Complete Engine Failure in a Storm on a Rocky Lee Shore!

Well this week we have a worrying start! After some very nasty wind and swell turn up unexpected in our little anchorage, we try to weigh up where we can sail to, to avoid this awful weather, but not only is it getting late and there is no where at all near with protection, the engine decides to completely stop working! So we are in 2+ meter swell, huge winds on a rocky lee shore with no engine! Join us to find out what we do in a crisis!

Extra Patreon - Everyday Life with the Sailing Pickle Family - Croatia 2022

We had so many adventures this year, especially in Croatia which turned out to be an amazing place to sail and travel! We have put together this little extra episode for our patrons only, which Bear especially loved to help to film and produce, just highlighting some of our everyday experiences exploring new anchorages and wild islands in Croatia. hope you enjoy guys! Episode 118 - Anchored and Exploring the Italian Archipelago, Tremiti Islands!

What a fabulous archipelago just off the east coast of Italy! Well worth a little visit 😊 We have so much fun exploring the fabulous Tremiti islands and enjoy a cool off in the beautiful clear waters, with a bit of snorkelling and cave diving! Thats all before Engine failure, on a rocky lee shore with deteriorating weather conditions! But you will have to watch next week to see how that story finishes!

Episode 117 - Wild Week of Fun with the Sailing Pickle Family!

This is a bit of a long episode this week guys! I had lots of footage so I thought why not share what everyday life on a boat looks like all week with our family! Join us as we have a very busy week sailing, cave diving, snorkelling, beach combing, fixing diesel leaks and fighting with sails when we're too close to the wind on big sails to remote islands.  Next week we reach and explore the remote islands off the coast of Italy.

Episode 116 - We sail to Brindisi Italy, Moor on the harbour wall, but the Guardia have other ideas!

Lots of sailing this week, no wind, too much wind, big swell and choppy seas we have it all! We have been doing lots of hops up the east coast of Italy and pushing hard to reach some shelter at Brindisi before a storm hits! But yet again we are visited and moved by the Guardia, although they were super helpful and friendly so it wasn't too bad, we eventually find a spot we are allowed to stay in and settle down for a couple of days on the harbour wall where we explore a bit and do lots of reg...

Episode 115 - Emergency Tactics. Something is around the Prop just metres from shore!

After long night sails we struggle to find a suitable anchorage which isn't either 25 metres deep or total rock, then whilst checking out a little cove just metres from shore we get entangle with a load of plastic around our prop! So engineless without movability Chris has to dive under the boat and cut free our propeller! Join us today as we save ourselves from being washed onto the rocks!

Episode 114 - We start our New Sailing Season but have an Emergency Hospital Admission!

What a crazy start to our sailing season! An Emergency Hospital Admission is always scary, but when you're in a foreign country and its one of your babies its all the worse! Thankfully everything turns out ok in the end and we manage to set sail, for our first sail of the season which also has a bit of a dramatic start! Hope you enjoy this weeks episode of good old boat life!

Episode 113 - Engine Troubles and Fiberglassing in Beautiful Italy!

We are back on our beloved catamaran Pickle, so glad the winters over and we have started our new season with an amazing road trip (see last episode 112) Now its on with boat jobs! The engine needs some serious maintenance and problems fixing, the mast needs stepping, safety checks need doing and the wind transducer needs fixing AGAIN! along with some fibreglassing and endless other jobs, we're busy, busy this week getting ready to set off next episode for the big blue 😃

Wow what a road trip! We have a fabulous and fantastic road trip back to Pickle! Stopping at Florence, Rome, Pisa, Naples, Pompeii, Mount Vesuvius, and so many other cool places on the way! This episode is a longer time frame than usual! We winterise Pickle and leave her safely berthed at our winter marina while we fly back to the UK for Christmas. After a lot of consideration and time I have finally come to the decision I can't live without a dog, I tried and its awful! I miss Boza more than words can say! Squeezing in every last minute of sailing, into the ever shortening daylight winter hours is this weeks task! We have a major storm brewing and the nasty weather front is heading our way!
