Episode 100 - Sailing Pickle Family A fish out of water, we go deeper into the Sahara to an Oasis!

It really is strange being so deep into the Sahara desert when you live full time on a boat! It's completely different from the very watery existence we are use to! But the Sahara does not disappoint, it is awe inspiring with its huge rolling dunes, sweltering heat, crystal clear skies and fresh air to breath! The camels are surprisingly friendly, and we enjoy many nights around the fire, enjoying good food, good company and having a right giggle and well deserved rest after the long days tre...

Episode 90 - Negotiations in Bizerte Marina in Tunisia!

After a lot of officials visiting on our vessel which we couldn't film, we were well instructed that we could NOT leave the marina to sail anywhere else in Tunisia?! This was explained to us that; since the new prime minister has taken over there has been political instability within Tunisia, and I believe also problems with human trafficking, drugs and all sorts of other things on boats! I also think that corruption is in every pore of society there and it is obviously beneficial if we stay ...

Episode 83 - Terrifying Ordeal Lifting Anchor!

This episode took some making!!! We decided to share this horrible experience with you in the hope you learn from our mistakes, and to show how crazy sailing life can be. Weather can change so quickly and things can go wrong so easily! Leading up to the day in question in this episode, we had put our stern anchor out to keep ourselves facing into the swell, so it wasn't uncomfortable in the anchorage when the wind was opposing the swell. Unfortunately totally unpredicted wind and waves built ...
