Patreon Reorganization and the Game

Hey folks,

I've come to realize the tiers for my Patreon aren't quite what they should be. I'm likely going to rejigger them in the near future (read: a couple of weeks) to better reflect the nature of the channel.

Ideally, I'd like to get more eyes on the videos I make, earlier, so that I can better integrate feedback ahead of time.

I'm not giving up on the rewards -- but I do think it needs to be adjusted some before I continue using it as-is. I am definitely going to mak...

Episode 10 is live!

Hey folks!

I'm back, after life took me and dragged me through flood waters, mud and crazy stress!

This time we're going to go through a program I wrote that fits on the back of a business card that uses a couple of neat tricks to make it fit.

Episode 7 is Live!

Hey folks!

After a very long break (quite a lot out of my control that required my undivided attention, family, moving, etc.) I've finally managed to get episode 7 of Nybbles and Bytes out the door! This one covers the basics of working with the SID chip at the monitor, and should get folks up and going to speed with the thing.

Enjoy!

I'm planning on getting back into the two week cadence for videos, so expect lots more to come!

I wrote a simple game in a week!

Hey folks!

I've been busy the last couple of weeks. Wrote a simple Tank game for the 128 to present at my day job. I'm planning on dissecting this in another video in the near future. In the meantime, you can get at the source code at http://github.com/jtgans/c128-tanks. The slides for the talk are also available publicly at http://bit.ly/nb-1980s...

Nybbles and MouseBytes Episode 3 is public!

Hey folks!

Apologies for the haitus -- between the move, my last leg of training for Clipper, and getting things sorted for work, I've barely had any time to spend on N&B or N&MB. Things are finally settling down, though, and I've managed to just finish the next episode! This one talks about the comparison instructions and how they work.

Thanks!

Nybbles and Bytes Official Discord Server!

Hey folks!

Given how painful it is to really have a conversation with you all on Patreon, YouTube, and Twitter, I've spun up a public Discord server where we can all hang out and chat more directly. I've also adjusted the tiers and benefits to include Discord roles -- Patrons get access to the private patrons channel on the server, and can more easily talk with me if they want! (note that you'll have to link your Discord account with Patreon to get it!)

Episode 5 is Live!

Hey folks!

Got the next episode of Nybbles and Bytes uploaded! This one's about how to build custom characters in single and multicolor modes! This will be the last video on the VIC-II, and the second to last before we start diving into assemblers.

Apologies for the delay on this one: I've had a bunch of stuff kick up at work that I had to deal with which sapped me out totally.

Rejiggered Benefits

Hey folks, apparently I goofed up when I set up the Patreon page. I originally had it as a Monthly pledge, but changed it to per-creation *after* I put the benefits in. For some bizarre reason, Patreon still had the benefits in there as "monthly". I've since ripped them out and re-added to make them properly one-time benefits to match up with the per-creation mode of operation. You shouldn't see any differences, but please let me know if anything weird happens.

In the meantime, I'm hard...
