Made to order items taken out of the shop for now - testing something out

Hey guys! I wanted to let everyone know I'm taking made to order items out of my shops for the time being. Whiskers, mesh, clearance items, and already made products are staying. Cat bases are not effected at all and I will still continue to print and sell those. :)

I've talked about this for years, but it's become increasingly difficult to focus on fursuits while juggling part orders from the store. Covid made things worse because orders slowed down juuuust enough to make the process ...

Quartz officially up for offers until January 7th

Quartz is now open to offers from the public. I know she won't be worn for a while and I could use the money to pay my final tax payment of the year. :) I don't have plans for any more realistic fox premades in the foreseeable future so this is a great chance to grab one.

Commission slot OPEN for the $50 tier! Starting construction in January

EDIT: Also wanted to add that anyone who gets a slot will not be eligible to get another slot until six rounds have passed. This prevents someone from getting a crazy high lifetime pledge and not giving new people a chance at commissions. If you want to buy extra parts for a suit of mine that you already own (upgrading from a partial to full, getting extra feet, etc) you do NOT need to be on the $50 tier. FWA Cancellation, premades for Patreon, changing plans a bit

As most of you have probably seen by now, FWA got cancelled for this year. I was intending to spend now until May 7th to build stock for the table. The winning enamel pin subject was a kitsune, so I came up with the idea for a series of pins called “kitsune march”. [VIDEO] Wolf Base Turnaround

I'm planning on trying to update my Youtube channel along with my other homes on the web - and one of those ways is taking videos of all my bases. I figure it'll be helpful to see it in the round and on a mannequin head. :) It'll take me a while to get this all done but it's a start.

Goals updated

Hey guys! I updated the goals on the front page by adding a $400 and $500 reward based on poll results. The $400 goal will be for an exclusive vinyl sticker as well as me ordering a new type of resin/powder to experiment with (maybe trying a rusting or shiny gold effect).  The $500 goal will be for a second enamel pin for anyone pledged 1+ years and I'll try a new small project. I'm currently leaning towards a paintable figure cast in resin.

Enamel pin reward - ORDERED!

The enamel rewards pins have been ordered, hooray!  They will be hard enamel with a gold plating and two posts on the back. :) The company says it'll take 2 - 3 weeks to make, so in the meantime I'll work on the backing cards. I'll print those myself with my new photo printer and bag em' up here.

Skree is up next!

The next costume up is Skree the velociraptor!  This one will be a toony fullsuit with a foam based head, moving jaw, and feathers.

I plan on making a mold for the head and using cast foam for this particular suit, but I'll offer casts in resin or foam in the shop. The hair will be spiked fur almost like I did for Corndog's hair, so it'll have a carved foam base.

One fun thing we're going to try - making the sickle claw on each foot be able to click on the ground. I'm not sure...

Shifting schedule

I already mentioned this in the Patreon chat but my work que will be shifting a bit. The hyena's completion date is getting pushed back because the customer needs more time. This means I'll be working on the remainder of the hyena's body at the same time as the next customer in my que (the iberian lynx).

This will NOT effect my customers in line after the lynx - I'm essentially working on two suits at the same time rather than working on them in sequence.

Bodysuit pattern

The bodysuit pattern for Corn Dog is complete; just got done cutting all the pieces apart. Like fursuit heads, I decided to pattern half the body so it's even on both sides when I flip it. Makes it easier to line up things like the candy corn!

Goodie bag

I'm starting to get better about including goodie bags with orders (always include a hand written thank you note at the very least). This one has a stuffed panda, licorice, brush, woolite sample, stickers, business cards, thank you card, and path tag.

Body pod go

This morning I finished patterning the lower half of the body with duct tape. I cut off the duct tape pieces and transferred them to foam - still working on the first leg. I'm pinning them together first to make sure the shape looks good before permanent gluing.

Ready to pattern

Started patterning today but the next step is patterning the lower half and transferring it to foam to create a body pod. Wish me luck! :)

Airbrushing pretty much done

Airbrushing went really well today! Tomorrow I'll check for symmetry again before winding up thr painting process and finishing the inside.

This looks really strange at this point but it's ready to airbrush today. :) Airbrushing makes a *HUGE* difference on realistic suits so keep an eye out for airbrushing WIP shots. I spent yesterday getting him ready to airbrush even though I typically take weekends off.
