I promise that's not oatmeal raisin! It's oatmeal chocolate chip!

Two old farmers, laying back in their rocking chairs out on the porch one afternoon. You can see it through their smiles and interaction with each other, that these are two people who have been through a lot together; both good and bad. They know each other like the back of their paws, and it's almost like they've discovered something special together.

Owner and his pup.
Miskey the malamute gives his pup, Chaplain, some calming affection.
Chaplain began as one of Miskey's patients long ago, but through the unpredictable and amusing ways that life goes, things have led to this; Chaplain as Miskey's good and loyal boy, owned in every way.

It's a big malamute, Dr. Miskey, and his mastiff mix pup,Chaplain.
The idea was to make it very obvious who had which role.Chaplain is the loyal pup and Miskey is every bit the owner, petting his boy.
Miskey has probably one of the best sheathes I've drawn.

Two great danes, wrapped up in rubber and leather, take it down to the dungeon to make sure they know each other's place.
Coloring is beginning! I'm feeling relieved with how it's turning out so far, because to be honest, this is the first piece of this size where I'm doing this much rubber, so I wanted to make sure I still did a good job with it.
I'm happy with the results so far!

Dale and Feargus are very well connected with their own emotions, the weather, the time of day, and nature. You might have to look carefully, but you can catch them gazing out into the countryside to soak it all in, and allowing themselves to feel small among a living and breathing world; the sight and scent of a misty morning, the silky brushes of wind, and even the buzzing sounds of the insects surrounding them.
In theme of this, I want the country lan...

So I'm waiting to make the announcement of who's writing the finished version of the story, but so far, I'm feeling really good about it, and I'm more excited than ever.
Also, I think I may update the Patreon Rewards to include posts of even Non-Point-Nowhere things, and include that for the $5 contributions.

During the warm humid summers in Georgia, it was common for the boys to head to the slow river to cool off and be alone. They'd rough house and wrestle as boys do, splashing around and throwing out playful names, and work themselves up into exhaustion. Until eventually, they'd drop their playful rough fronts, and slightly out of breathe, hop onto the same inner tube, and talk as they drift away down the river. Just the birds, the insects, and the ...

Feargus has always been a large fellow, but Dale's not afraid to show him what he's got.

Young Dale holding onto his fiddle, sitting in a rocking chair too large for him, out on the porch during a rainy gloomy day.
I actually am pretty in love with this painting. I knew it would be a challenge to get the mood right, but I think it fits what I imagined pretty well.

"You could take me for a ride on your big green tractor
We could go slow, or make it go faster.
Down through the woods,
And out through the pasture.
As long as I'm with you,
It really don't matter."
This is kind of what started it all in a sense. It's a song by Jason Aldean, and it sparked a few root ideas in my head for this entire story. One of the key pieces...

Calling this piece "finished" for now. It's one of my favorite pieces in the entire series. Which I can say about every piece probably.
But I think this captures a side of them, during a time in their life, that is especially fun to see.
A warm Georgia summer afternoon under the sycamore tree by the river; sweet tea and connecting with that guy who's grown up with you by playing the day away with music. Singing, dancing, laughing, and taking a swig of chilled sweet peach t...
