This is one of my personal projects. I could've finished Lady (that's still on the work) but I got sudden mood for this character and she's simpler technical wise. So this isn't the commission work I teased before. And if that one unable to make it out this month, I've already got 4 releases this month already. The evil nurse from Rumble Roses. Her lips are the most prominent features but also the most troublesome part due to the way original model handle the lips. Just like Reiko from the same game, limited face articulation on the original model makes it challenging to create expression morph. So they aren't perfect but I think there's enough of them to convey Anesthesia's character.

Like other poll this will run for a week. Also if anyone ask, I always pick their default appearance (hairstyle, accessories etc). Sometimes I do include optional hair, but not always.

This is a commission. Soul Calibur has some great characters out there but unfortunately the models themselves, even from newest game, are lacking compared to other fighting games. Basically SCVI models are exactly the same quality as SCV, one console generation behind. The art style may make up for it, and I've handled worse. I think they still look great in HS.

As expected, Laura's hair is the most challenging part. Transparency issue on the left side, rigging on the right side. Still, they turned out alright except for certain part which I blamed HS for that (read the notes). The rest are straightforward, the eyebrows being arched on such steep angle kinda makes it hard when making expressions, but not much.

I managed to get the hair to work. Well, sort of. Still need to fix the back of the neck thanks to the weird way of HS head to neck connection. As for the hair movement itself, the original rig has exact same bones with the base hair I used (long, side). Which is great so I don't have to re-rig it myself. This is the most complex model I've worked on so far. Not only because of polygon count but also the quirks that the base model have that I found when working on it. First off, the face is asymmetrical, then it's off center. Seems they captured everything from the actress including her imperfection, which I can understand since realistically, human is imperfect. This is a commission from last month. I know nothing about this character, so I did some research. This Kim Jiyun lady is from Korean MMOFPS game called Sudden Attack 2. One news I found is that this character got pulled from the game because apparently she's too hot. So uh, yeah, that kind of things happened.

This is R. Mika from Street Fighter V with her default appearance in the game. Mask is face accessory so it can be easily removed. I managed to adapt the original weights for her long twintails, and I have experience dealing with (even longer) Kagura's twintails so the project went smoother than expected. The transparent parts on those tails and bangs are bit strange, but that's how they look like in original model and the game.

Done with face mesh, hair, and the mask. Next will be the expressions and some make-up, as you see those lips need some works. The mask is face accessory so it will be easy to remove.
Well, making expression morphs is the most tedious part but I gotta get 'em right and fit the character.

This is Blue Mary from King of Fighters XIV. Or maybe you can pretend it's Android 18. That's the thing with KoFXIV models, they're quite bland face-wise without their iconic costume and if the hair isn't unique like Leona they could be anyone else. I hope the models on newly announced KoFXV will be better. But anyway, working on this project is pretty smooth. Necklace included, was planning to port the earrings too but then they would stay hidden beneath the hair so there's no point.

Blue Mary will be released first as she's progressing nicely.
For R.Mika I did some tests and early works. I did Kagura with similar long twintail hairstyle before so I don't think there will be a problem there. The mask will be separate accessories, and I still can't find a way to make accessories spawned in the right place. Somehow I think that's not possible. Gotta rely on adjust function on HS itself I guess.

This is version of Jill from Resident Evil Remake, and since the base model is from an old game this was supposed to be simple project, but turned out to be more complex than I predicted. After making countless adjustment back and forth I think I can settle with the textures. The original face texture has baked shadows that don't translate well into HS as they would show up as dark and dirty patches. However cleaning them up entirely will make the face looks weird and too sterile. So I've decided to left some in like under the lips and nose, and a tiny bit around the eyes. Leona is my favorite KoF girl, but I did the other two first before her since lazy me didn't want to deal with that wild hair. But hey, she won the poll so no excuse this time. Also included in the package are the earrings and dog tag as accessories.
BTW, if you zoom in her dog tag you'll see that Leona is listed to be allergic to shellfish. Huh.

Leona's progress is much faster than I predicted, though I haven't finished the expression morphs which is easily the most tedious part of the modding process. So maybe I spoke too soon. At least other tedious part that is the hair is done, sure it has more layers to split and arrange than Karin but the whole process is more straight-forward.
